I seem to be going through glow plugs a LOT faster than normal. The motor is a Megatech M-16, and has had about 3 gallons of fuel through it.

Rebuild time? I keep it tuned up well, and it appears to be normal, except for going through about 1 glow plug per two or three tanks of gas.(OS #8 glow plugs...)

hmmm... ?

What do the plugs look like when they are spent?

-- Sometimes they are completey dead, like the coil is not there anymore, and sometimes it's just burned up and nicely blackened

Also, what fuel are you running? and percentage?

O'donnel 20%, and Top Fuel 20%, depending on which brand the LHS has of 20%, I prefer the o'donnel.

Burned, kinda brownish, usually with fuel on them. I don't really know how to describe what they look like...

Most likely you are running too lean. Do you know what your temps are?

Also, are you using the plugs suggested in the manual?

Sounds lean to me too, richen the HSN first, then do some high speed runs. If all is good, let stand at idle, if she seems to rev a little high, then richen up the lsn.

Just rebuilt it... gotta break the little bugger in again. It was about time for a rebuild, it had 4 or 5 gallons through it.:D

Hmmm... I just realized it was way too lean. Thanks.

I love when people fix things the best way possible. It makes me glad to know there are people out there willing to actually "work" on things.. Unlike some people I know, at the lhs.... hehhe
