http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAETT&P=ML
Castle Creations 1/10 Sidewinder SC System 3800kV

Only 2s rated but not really concerned

When I get this will I have to run lipo right out of the box? I'm putting together funds for Lipo but does it matter if they are hard case or not?

You won't have to, but on a high grip surface, you'll find it will cut out often. I couldn't make a lap around a wet clay track without a LiPo. As far as hard/soft case, it shouldn't matter, I run hard case.

Why don't you cut the wires on your battery, strip it back a little and touch both ends to your tongue...that should let you know if its dead or not ;)

I cut the advil capacitor off of it and now it isnt working when I hook a D battery up to it..

The capacitors are on the motor to filter electrical noise that can interrupt the raidio signal also it stores energy so as the motor rotates it smooths the flow of electric to it.Even though its dc there are still small brakes in current as it goes into the motor.Thats why there on there.:whhooo:

AHHHHH YEAAAHHH! Gotta love the lady in navy blue shorts! USPS dropped me a handfull of packages today, and here is what this boy got:

Castle Creations SCT Sidewinder 2s esc & 3800kv brushless 4 pole motor
JConcepts Ford Raptor SCT-R Lid
gensacearespammers 5500 2s Lipo

Anything I should know prior to bolting my CC unit up? Any break in procedure for brushless motors?

WOOOOO I am excited with a chubby now! Pictures coming later of the build

Nice. Buy extra gears and tires. I'm pretty sure that motor is the 4-pole, and after talking with a buddy of mine, there's way too much torque for a two-wheel drive. :D You'll have fun though, enjoy!

I hope not too much torque to where I just spin out on every turn and throttle pin... But now I am just lost on the scheme I want to do on the lid... I am definatly adding skulls of some sort like you did alien :D

If you use liquid mask, don't cut deep.

I take it you did? But no I am the old fashioned blue masking tape with pin stripe tape lol, thanks for the advice I need to get some and start getting the hang of it instead of taping because taping, well,,, Is a b!tch lol.

Just got my body cut out and oh my good golly what a pain in my rump to cut the rear out...Pics coming soon :D:D

Got started on the paint finally after so many mind changes, hopefully will get a coat of primary on tonight...

WOO finally done with the raptor. I removed the tape running along the bottom and cam up with a new theme for the lid, which I would like to call Bloodshed. So what do yall think? I double marbled the skulls on top with dark gray & brown to give the skulls their natural color which is somewhat visible but like they say the camera does no justice.

Time to charge up and get back out there, hopefully my esc will be alright in the rain? :\

Lol just my luck, my esc said it was setup default for 2s, so I run my 1st pack, go to recharge and.... Low Voltage..... Now I am sending back to hobbypartz for an exchange so now its a show truck for a week or 2.....

Anywho I have some questions, when I hit the reverse it doesn't do a full reverse roll it has a "pulsating" style reverse. My XR10 did the same thing when I first hooked it up on 2 escs and a MOA unit, but there aint nothing differant or wrong that I've done that I can see?

Secondly I am thinking about waterproofing my esc but am concerned if I do so if there will be any sort of overheating problems or any problems at all? I know its not meant for this but I like bashing around in the rain as I did today but damn I made a mess of Losi..

the esc/motor combo is crazy on the 2wd and am having spinout issues around the corners and just pinning the throttle, any ideas on how I can prevent this, maybe new tires or some sort of esc adjustment?

Lastly I am having some real parachuting issues with it when I hit the jumps, what can I do to prevent this?

It's all in the programming for the ESC, before you use the replacement, hook it up and program it from your pc or get a field card. And that ESC needs airflow, or it will overheat.

The only way to stop parachuting is to start drilling holes in the body.

It didnt come with the usb so I can't plug it in and dont got the money for the cable and program

Okay so I'm TRYING to set my transmitter up on my SCT and its pissing me off!!!! I can't get the actual forward on the trigger to be forward, its reverse, and reverse pull is forward, what causes this? It worked before but now I'm stumped and I dont dare reverse motor wires not knowing about brushless motors (hehe I tried and didnt work)

Also, what in the hell does D/R mean on my +/- Throttle and +/- Steering adjustments on my tx and what do they do? My manual does not define D/R so I dont know.

Lastly what the hell are EPAs and what do I want them set at when I calibrate my rigs?

Thanks

Okay got it all figured out, whong channel memory for the model haha, small update I spose, 1 week before I got my new wheels and tires I was doin some sexy donuts and blew out a tire! Who knew it was possible. So I picked up 4 Proline SC Trenchers and DE Racing Trinidad wheels and jesus these tires roost!
Got some pics jumping (oler) and some roost pics (today)

My neighbors MX BMX track, works GREAT for the sct! He is into sct too but I am yet to have a day off with him to race it up.

Okay so the XXX is proving to me that it is un-breakable but thats just fine lol. But one issue I am having is overheating, my neighbor that also races and bashes a blitz is telling me I have my pinion & or spur geared way too high and said to try a pinion in the 14-18t range, I have a 14t pinion but what will be outcome of a pinion tooth that low? I also have an 18t but is on my scaler and is the only thing making my rig somewhat walk-behindable. What should I do?
