Hello,
I received a new RC offroad truck and it has a plastic protective body coating. I want to apply decals it came with. Should I remove coating or apply decals right over it. I usually always leave coating on especially if decals are already applied for another protective layer. Thanks

nah you want to remove that skin,
its going to scratch and peel and your going to lose you're decals when that happens. peel the film, wipe the body down with some rubbing alch and then slap on your slaps bro, shoot some pics of the truck!!!!

Thanks for all your ideas. I am going to remove. It would look shabby if left on when it starts to peel. However, would it be beneficial to spray a clear coat after putting decals on?

Bodies are “consumable” items. That film is nothing more than a protective film only from overspray from the painting process. They leave it on RTR vehicles to further protect it during shipping. Leaving it on would be about like leaving the safety yellow, plastic, curb guards on the front splitter of your $80,000 Dodge Hellcat after leaving the dealership parking lot. Rip that stuff off, and enjoy your RC. 🍻🤘
