There were several things that I feel were causing this. The first was worn rod ends on the pushrods and also worn shock ends. These ends get worn out very quickly and allow a lot of slop which is never a good thing. The second problem is that I was just pushing this truck too hard. I was jumping it 10-20ft in the air and hitting huge jumps at full speed. I have since converted this revo into more of a truggy style truck and use my savage XL for big air bashing.
I am going to order a set of the RPM rod ends and see if they last a little longer than the stock ends. I am only get about 1/2 gallon on the stock ends before they are worn out.
