Do either the Mugen mbx5 or Kanai II come with a center torsen? I was looking at them and cannot get any kind of specs on that. I am thinnking about picking up a new buggy this weekend and am still trying to figure out what I want. I am leaning to the MBX5 because most LHS's around here carry quite a few Mugen parts compared to the Kyosho's, and in my opinion Kyosho wants WAYYYYY too much for the K2. I have seen them both on the track (mbx4-RR, not the MBX5) and have to say I can't see the $1-200 difference anywhere, but that bling factor keeps getting to me  .

the mbx 5 is 589 at my shop but i'm not sure about the torsen diff... sorry... just wanted to post that the mbx5 is way cheaper than the k2.

Yeah its $579 at my LHS, thats one of the reasons I'm leaning towards it rather than the K2.

here is a little info about the Kanai:

Except for the rear diff, the Kanai’s diffs are different from those in the standard car. The center and front diffs are what Kyosho calls “TCD”—traction-control diffs. In place of the cast gears used in the rear diff, they feature very rugged-looking steel gears that are harnessed to prevent excessive diff action under acceleration—much like a Torsen diff.

It's not a "torsen diff" exactly? but acts like one? I searched everywhere on mbx5. I came up with nada.

Good Luck. Doubt you can go wrong with either.

The Mugen does not come with a Torsen dif stock. Call Mugen if you dont believe me 949-475-9505. What it comes with is a center biased diff which is entirely different. It puts more power to the front diff than it delivers to the back diff. This helps really powering through a corner. Some people's driving styles or lack there doesn't agree with the biased to the front. I drove the MBX 4 and thats what I personally liked about it. Simple and plain Torsen diffs are expensive and I have yet to see a car sold with them.

Thanks for the info there, it has helped to decide on the MBX5 and yes there is a buggy that comes with one out of the box and you wont want to hear which one...........thats right the Hyper7 Pro. It comes with a conventional center diff and a Torsen. Out of the box it has 4 diffs. Anyway just some food for thought.
