I feel bad about not touching my Baja in about 2 weeks after starting the build on this.

I just got a Mugen MBX5R to compete in some 1/8th scale racing. I ordered an O.S. VZ-B V-Spec-T (P) .21 motor for it yesterday. I plan on also getting an Ofna JP-3 pipe for it probably, but I'm not sure on that. Going with either JR Z9000 series digital servos, or the new titanium geared HiTec ultra high torque and speed servos. A Nomadio React will power both the HPI Baja and Mugen buggy. And a JConcepts wing and body which will be custom painted by my local R/C buddy Grant at GSAirWerx in a blue true fire theme.

Here are the current pictures. I hope to maybe have some new pics of the engine on there tomorrow.

I'd actually recommend an 086 pipe for it. I run that on my Mugen with the OS VZR... Really wakes the motor up, bigtime. Just make sure you cut the two screws off that hold the stinger guard on, or you'll wind up with two nice gouges.

2050 pipe or the JP-3. I run a stock and EB Mods V-spec. I also run all four the servo's you mentioned, the JR are on my 5R and the Hitecs are on my 5T. I like the hitec a lot better. I run a Nomadio Sensor and lipo packs (unregulated). Use Hughes worlds setup as a baseline and adjust from the there. The recommended stock setup didn't suit me too well, it calls for too much droop for one thing and it wasn't as free as I like. It doesn't take much to modify it to your liking though. Also go up in the rear dif from the starting 1K to 2K or 3K. I found too much wheel spin with 1K in the rear.

What is the finish on the 2050 and JP3 like? Any better than the other?

I see the JP3 comes in hard coated and chrome, which would look nicer for longer?

Nice build dont forget to put lots of grease on the out drive so they dont lock in ,I have been running the buggy and truggy for a while now and have had no problems, good luck!!!!!!!!!
