well boys and girls, i just ordered a dx3s!!! i'm so pumped!!! i wanted to share my excitement with you guys. do any of you guys have one? i wanted to know what you guys thought of it and how the telemetry is. later

I picked one up about a month ago. I love it. One quick tip though... I had a hard time getting the failsafe setting to hold when binding. It took two people to bind the model. I set the bind mode and held full brake until the light signaled it had completed the bind, kept my finger on the brake and had a friend pull out the binding plug. If I did it any other way the brake setting would not hold. Temp telemetry is easy to install, RPM sensor wire took some routing and I am not convinced it is operating correctly. I run it on a Revo with an "X" type Traxxas flywheel. This flywheel has holes around its perimeter and I think those holes are triggering the RPM sensor at ten times the speed it should. Setting travel and everything else is a breeze.

What r u talking about when u say binding? I know how a failsafe works, and I know what "binding" means as far as the servos go, but I'm kinda lost with what u said about binding and the binding plug? I appreciate all the input tho. I've also heard that the wheel selector thing goes bad on the radios too.

Since it is a 2.4 Ghz and not an AM radio, it does not rely on crystals for the frequency. Instead it has a little plug that you plug into the Rx and the put the Tx into "Binding mode" This has the two exchange info until they decide on the manner in which they will communicate. This signal is unique and its why you will not get interference from other Tx's. That whole process of the Tx and Rx deciding how to communicate is called binding. You'll see it in the instruction manual. I don't know anything about hardware failure though... I have only had it for a month.
