Just me or is somehting wrong?

This is my first Nitro RC so you guys may laugh. My little buggy is a .15 and I'm running Tornado 20% fuel in it. Is it normal for this yellowish oil to come out of the pipe? I'm guessing it is from the lube in the fuel but if i start it up in my house it will leave a spot on my floor or on my bench and i have to clean it up.

It's normal for a little oil to come out; that's a good sign. It means the engine is getting plenty of lubrication. If you are worried about a mess from the oil dripping from the exhaust while the engine is off; you can go down to your local auto parts store and purchase a pack of "Vacuum Caps" for a couple bucks.

You might not want to run it in your house; not only will the noise be ear-shattering, but you could also cause harm to yourself by breathing in the exhaust vapors.

i don't run it in the house, i only start it to warm it up because it is cold outside at the moment. I was just worried that it might be to rich and all the fuel wasn't being burnt. What do the Vacuum Caps do? As for the fumes. I race karts that use the same exact fuel but with a lower nitro content. The karts are ran indoors on pavement and I have never had any problems other than my nose and eyes burning. I have been doing this for years. The methonol in the fule will cause you to go blind if you drink it though.

The vacuum caps are to cover the exhaust "stinger", so it won't drip fuel everywhere.

That being said, that's the "pinkest" red I'ver ever seen!

I do like the tip on the caps, though. Going to have to stop and pick up some myself!

Thanks; but I can't take credit for it... I first saw the idea in Car Action, on an Ofna car. I can't remember which one... I think it was the Hyper 7 RTR.

Either way, it beats the ol' paper towel plug, and even more so, the screaming from the puddle of oil on the floor.

And I agree; that fuel line does look pink, but once it gets fuel in it, it turns red. I usually run clear lines, but this was all they had.

just make SURE you remove this befor attempting to start the truck, or you will flood the engine over and over, untill you swear up and down something is wrong with you and sell all your nitro rc's because you can never make it work right... just ask got nitro?!! lol

the only bad thing with the caps is that it is very easy to forget to remove them and flood the engine. then waste a half hour checking every thing but the obvious.

My street looks poka dotted with all the fuel coming out of the engine.
