I'm teetering on the edge of buying the race roller for Christmas. £269.

I have a .28 engine, which may be a little too much and an Rx with 2 Bluebird high torque servos.

Will an engine with a pull start fit?

Do I need to buy anything else to fit it out? I assume my existing pinion gear on the engine will do?

Paul

I have ordered the Losi 8ight 2.0.

I also tested my engine and it started second pull and ran fine.

Radio gear also works fine. As I might be tempted to put an FPV camera and Tx onto this, I think I'll keep the 40Mhz FM set and consider also buying a Spektrum DX3e.

Answered it yourself :hehe: Congrats on the new rig.

Was reading the manual for the Losi. A lot of it is the same as the Ansmann vapor I have, except I expect it will be better quality materials and alignment. The front suspension and steering is different. Vapor has C cup suspension which are very fragile, Losi has a fixed carrier and a pivoting spindle instead, looks more robust.

Due to the rules set out by the governing bodies of rc racing there is not a lot of variation between the kits which is a good thing so everyone is on a relatively even playing field.

Ever since I started racing I have had an uncontrollable need to do better, its so addictive. Hope you are enjoying the sport.

Other than getting a aluminum servo horn, you're good to go. That's the only necessary hop-up IMO. The buggy is a tank, and will take a ton of abuse. Make sure to check the mesh of the rear diff often, if it starts developing backlash shim it up quick. If you keep on top of it you will have very few problems with it.
