Just got my new buggy, a few questions.

the knuckes are a good tire for where you're dricing, except for the street. if you drive on the street a lot, i recomend you keep your old tires and use them for the road since they're all slick, that's what i'm doing

Ok, these are the ones I am looking at:

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDUS4&P=7

When I said pavement I just meant that sometimes I cross my driveway every once and a while. I pretty much only drive on grass, and a little dirt, but not as much as grass.

One more thing. I love the wheels that come on the X-Terminator and I want to keep them and put the new tires on them. How do you suggest getting the old tires off without ruining the wheels? Or is this impossible??

Boil them for about 10 minutes a piece. Run cold water on them in the sink after boiling prior to handling them and the rubber should seperate from the rim pretty easily. If not, boil longer.

i've heard that boiling works, although doesn't it make the foam wet? i guess you can dry it out though........

My rims are yellow, I believe that they are yellow plastic, not just painted so I don't think I'll have a problem there. So there purpuse of boiling is to make the glue get too hot and become non sticky, or what does boiling actually do to make it so easy to get the tires off?? I'm just curious.

Boiling should loosen up the glue and allow you to take the rubber off the plastic rim. If the foams get wet, who cares; the new tires should come with new foam and if not, just let them dry =)

Some people boil their rims to soften them up a little if they are too brittle.

Boiling won't melt the plastic, unless you're using some sort of super strength pressure cooker and can somehow get the water up to 300 degrees.

actually i prefer to put my wheels in the oven.

set the temp to 400* and pre-heat the oven. when its up to temp. TURN IT OFF, and then put your wheels inside. wait for the oven to cool down on its own. once everything is cool. your tires will just pop right off the rim like they were never glued on. I've used this method countless times already and converted a few "boilers" too. if your mom/wife/significant other doesn't like the idea too much. just put some foil on the racks to ease thier mind.

Ok, I like that idea better. So right after it reaches 400 put them in, close it up, and just let them sit there until it cools, right? That just sounds easier than timing 10 min. and boiling water...the oven sounds easier.

Fine... do the oven thing...

I haven't done the oven thing because we live in an apartment and our stove sucks. It cooks all uneven and the temps aren't really what the dial says. I didn't want to torch my stuff.

However, we did just get a new oven... maybe I'll try that next time.

Yea, you practically need to be a rocket surgeon to let things boil for 10 minutes. I don't know *how* spaghetti ever gets made.

(I'm bustin')

me either, my spaghetti is always under or over cooked

Well, I just meant it might be more of a mess and stuff. It just seems easier to shove them in the oven and let them sit there then having to worry about under/over boiling them. Neither sounds that hard, its just that I'm lazy and I always take the easier way...
