Well, retarded me tryed to go full throttle into a curve of our sub-division. There was a damn car parked on the street and I hit the wheel and snaped the front shock tower. I don't think they'res anymore damage, as everything up-front moves fine!

Now I have an excuse to buy a better one!!

Todd, did you snap the shock tower ( I know you said that) or the shock top?

The shock tower might not be that expensive, just a lot of work to replace. Not too much, just enough to keep you busy for an evening. Plus, you will learn a lot about the construction of the front end.

BTW, are you sure you did not lose it due to low batteries? Did you get your hump pack yet?

Edit:

Just checked Nitrohouse.com (OFNA) and they have the stock one for 12.00. It also appears that the PCR one will fit as an upgrade, but that is 40.00. (and you'll bend it in that kind of a crash, anyhow)

No, they were fresh batteries out of the pack(my dad stole some from work for me.) Energizer Industrials. Anyways, yes, the Shock TOWER snapped. It snapped right where the little holes are for diffrent mounting positions. I broke nothing else at all. Wheels move fine with no resistance and so do the A-Arms. Just sorta bummed I have to put it away already.

EDIT: Holy Crap! $40.00!! WOW! I'll get the stock one. I was looking at my manual and I have to tear up the whole damn front end to put in the shock tower...go figure!!

OMG!! I just took the whole front end apart...down to the gear box, and I didn't even need to take the front end off the chassie!!! AHHH!!! I guess I've learned how it goes together now. But it is weird that the gear box has no bottem of its own...it just sits on the chassie!

Yea the chassis serves as the bottom of the gearbox. Its good that you had to take a lot of it apart. Like you said, it tought how the buggy is put together. The next time you hafta take it apart it'll take much less time.

Just wait till you hafta rebuild a diff lol.

Now go break it again.

um.. yeah lol. Its really not that hard once you get used to fixing your car. The only way to get better at fixing is to break stuff :D Try looking at your manual next time, it will save you those kind of mistakes.

I got my controls on my post box back YESS!!!!!!

I actually used the manual the whole time. It just shows the mount going INTO the gear box...so I thought I had to take IT apart, which meant taking everything apart.

Well, the good news is, most buggies go together the same or in a similar way, so now you can work on most of them!
