This is kinda long, but here it is:
The below is a brief summary of event as they have unfolded.
On Friday evening I emailed a seller from ebay known as"Georgio S" requesting information about the item he was selling. On Saturday 040905 @ approximately 0939 hrs. I received an email from same. I reviewed the photos he sent and emailed him back w/ my cell phone # asking him to call me so I could go over some questions I had. At approximately 1000 hrs. he made contact with me. We discussed the item at hand and payment. I asked about his having "Paypal" as a method of payment and he stated that it would be fine, but he had just set it up. I asked about his lack of feedback and his new account status, he said he signed up just to sell the car.
I proceeded to watch the auction and consequentially won the auction. I attempted to pay shortly after the ending of the auction(I always pay upon completion), but was unable do to him not specifying a shipping amount. I then sent him an email informing him of same, and told him I would await his response, or he could call me. Today @ approximately 2030 hrs. I called him to resolve this issue. He informed me that he wanted me to deposit funds into his bank account. I said that was not possible, that "Paypal" was the accepted method of payment as per his statement on the auction. Therefore "Paypal" was the only method I would use via my Discover card. He then began to say he was in the process of getting verified and it would take a few days, but we could do COD. Again I informed him that we would stay with the auction specified Paypal system. He said he would call me back the next day. Approximately 10-12 minutes later he called me back asking if I could pay him thru his email account, independent of Ebay. He Said "Let's not do it thru Ebay, I just closed my Ebay account, I only opened it to sell the car, so I don't care. You can go to my email and pay me $1500. dollars". I asked why he referred to "$1500", when the auction ended @ $1225!? He then said"oh you're the guy who won it on Ebay, I thought you were someone else". I said," Hello! I'm the guy who won your auction", what are you trying to pull?".He said he had to get $1500 for the buggy, even though it auctioned for $1225. I said the auction price is it or nothing. I then told him that I was thru dealing with him and he could try and sell his car to someone else.
I'm sending this summary FYI so that you will be informed in two areas: 1, I will NOT be following thru with this auction, as this individual has changed the terms of an agreement and informed me that he has closed his account. 2nd, I believe that this person may be attempting to perpetrate a fraud by attempting to re-direct funds outside of Ebay. I hope this will in no way affect my good standing on Ebay. I request a prompt response,
Sincerely,
Kyle Vogt
