I'm after some 2mm polyester whipping chord (for whipping rope ends, not doing the stuff on the OTHER forum) to tie my pins to the chassis of my WK. 1) It stops me losing them and 2) it makes em a sight easier to pull off in a hurry (grab cord and yank in correct direction).

The paperclip idea is interesting, but having been bent and mangled that much in my experience most paperclips go brittle somewhere along their length.

Tomorrow it it's raining, cut some scrap lexan and make a plate to velcro that battry to the upper links. I used a clear plastic dog treat container that was square, so the pieces were flat. I cut them close, then used a sharpie to mark them in place and finish trimming them. When I was done, I used denatured alcohol to remove the marker ink and sticker residue. The hardest part of it all was removing the dam label, that thing was on there with this sticker tar substance lol. If you have a dog, "Pupcorn" was the brand I used, but there's millions of products that come in a rather thick lexan container. Heck, those gladware containers might work. although they aren't thick like what I was using.

wow, i can't tell that it was a paper clip, i was trying to think of how i could make it just magnetic so it will just pop off when u want it but it would prolly add alot of weight using strong enough magnets that would hold it on tight.

slowngreen, you could use hook and loop technology. Just build a plate that slides over both body posts, like a long oval or rectangle, about an inch high, that will sit against the body. The put one side of the velcro on the new panel, and one side on the body. Now that I think about, you might want to space the velcro in sections so it's not too hard to remove, but you want it to hold in an impact. That way, you don't have body posts sticking out to get hung up, and it looks more scale.

Alpine, nice job man. I like to see someone as OCD as I am with stuff like that. I'm about to clean up this workspace with my OCD, and then start building on the new comp rig. Muah ha ha ha=devil

Funny you should mention that battery tray, the paint for it is drying as we speak,

99 cents a pound for wings or thighs!!! lol, that plate looks good man, i guess your using the lipo? and charlie is that mod u mentioned what you have running on yours? so build a plate thats goes over the body posts and then what cut off the extra length of post so it dont stick out?

All dun. 4 Zip-Ties to hold it in place, put a few velcro circles on it to hold the battery on, (dont know where my strips went) and put her in.

and i figured they would be easier to keep track of, and with how they hug the body, should stay on longer. + they are easy to make, and free.
