I just measured my roll bar on my maxx, and it is 5 1/4" tall. Its the one from New Era. It clears my sirio .27, so it should clear your .15.

Cool thank man :) I just might have to get one for my truck

It will clear the head measures 4 1/4 plent enough to protect it when I tumble it over and over and over LOL

Yep. Glad to help out. Its a great roll bar, definitaly worth the money. And, it uses the holes already in the chassis.

The New Era Roll Bar, olds97 lss posted about, fits both the new and old Maxx you'll be glad to know. Your Maxx looks great, top job with that and the roll bar will help keep it that way!

Who makes those purple shocks and where did you get them?

Also, noticed your cold air intake. Make that yourself? Does it work? I suspect the reason and advantage for that was to reach cleaner and cooler air. These little motors do not make that much in the way of intake manifold pressure (vacuum), so I was curious if you have problems with throttle response or stalling.

The shocks are made by a company called Hot Bodies and I bought them on ebay there are very sweet they have a adjustable slider on them so you can add more or less tension on the springs kind of the way shock spacer work. The intake was also something I bought on ebay and it diddnt seem to make a huge differance because the diameter of it is to large I probaly will make one that fits better or just put the fliter back on the carb. I would say if you have the abilty to make one do it but to go buy one I dont think its worth the $$$ but I'm kind of new to nitro vehicales and might be wrong that would be a good thread to ask everyone on the website.

Sorry Jon I diddnt relize that you can go back and edit pics you had already posted I did make the one I listed after that smaller I will go back and edit the first ones my bad I wasn't trying to be stuborn lol

There I that should do it sorry again for my braindamage lol I just now figured out you can edit the pics in the thread :)

No problem Jesse G,
Looks like your pic is almost there. 630 x 495. If you have a photo editor you can do it manually or just post a link to it if it can't be done. Like I said its all for the forum! Thanks for cooperating

Jon

Here's the pic of the roll bar hieght:

Cool thanks man :) are those bumpers on top of your shock towers ???

Yes, they were. I kept destroying my bodies rear, so I just finally cut it off, hose clamped the top through a bumper to the roll bar and mounted another on the shock tower so the plastic hit the ground instead of the top of the tower or my engine head. Works really well, but is kind of hard on stock shock towers.

I got a lot of flak it from members here though... but I do whatever works, not looks good.

Thats some very thought out fabricating and looks like it would work very well looks like you do lots of bashing hehe. So even with that roll bar the engine head will still get damaged? Or is the just because your running a flat bed :) ?

Yeah, it was more due to not having the rear of the body. When I had a body on that was still intact, I didn't have the bumper/shocktower thing on.

I don't have the truck anymore though... gave up on the maxx.

Savage.

I started with a xxx-nt, got a t-maxx 2.5, upgraded it to a xtm conversion 21 tmaxx, traded the xxx-nt for another t-maxx 2.5, converted it to a 2wd maxx, got a savage, parted out and sold both maxx's, bought the NMT recently for something small but still 4wd.

The xxx-nt was nice for what it was, but for where I have to drive, 2wd and low ground clearance was sucky, which is why I got the maxx.

The 2.5 on my maxx sucked since day one. Followed the dvd to the letter, but never saw it pull a wheelie. Tune it one way, temps would hit 340 and flame out, richen it 1/8 turn and it would flood and die... tried upgrading the head, didn't help, tried installing an OS carb, didn't help much. Tried installing a OS 15, to underpowered... that's when I converted to a 21. Then I had to replace the whole driveline, but then diffs and bulkheads were still an ongoing problem even after buying aluminum. Just a bad design to try and shove a 21 in...

Got the other maxx, converted it to 2wd and installed the OS 15 in it. Liked it quite a bit, but still had the bulkhead and diffs issue. That's when I bought a savage roller.

I installed the engine off my 21 maxx onto it and pretty much never drove either maxx again. Parted out the 2 maxx's and got about $600 out of them ($1200 roughly into both of them). I drove the savage all summer and beat the living crap out of it after upgrading the shocks. Added some odds and ends to it just to make it more durable (cvd's, roll cage, OFNA/dubro linkage, lunsford turnbuckles, MP servo saver).

Then I decided I'd like having something smaller again just for tinkering around with and I got the HPI Nitro MT (the predecessor to the MT2 I think). I've since done some mods to it, upgraded the shocks, made a steel plate to support the center spur and engine to reduce flex, put UE Shocks on it, put RPM rims/losi tires on it and installed an OS 18 cv-r(x). I haven't run it much since the new tires and engine. It got too cold, but the few times I did have it out, it freaking flys.

Thats cool . I have been hearing alot about the savage that alot of people perfer them over the maxx. I have only ran my T-Maxx for about 45 minutes to an hour it been very very cold here in Co. The main reason I bought a T-Maxx was I bought it for100.00 0n ebay and all it needed was tires and a throttle servo which I already had the servo I then spent way more than that on upgrade lol. So far I like it alot exspecialy the 4 wheel drive, I also have a couple electric rustlers which are really fun but limited where they can go with there open 2 wheel drive system if they had a posi rear end they would be alot more fun. I have 2 sons one is 5 and one 7 The five year old and I share one of the rustlers he will get his own when he can take care of things better I can't believe how rough he is with his toys lol and my other son has his own, they got them for x-mas and can't wait for it to warm up so we can go out have some fun :). Thanks for all the help you have given me so far I had no clue what I was doing when I got my Maxx lol the electric trucks are much more easy to fix and run. I have gotten lots of valueable help from you and other members thanks to all of you also :)
