If you're looking for tough, then what most here will recommend is the Savage. They are probably the stoutest truck out of the box. If you are getting a new one, make sure that you break it in properly. Just use the Search function and look for "Heat-Cycle break in" here.

thanks for the advice. is the savage much stronger? or is the aftershock made of a lesser quality material... the aftershock seems to be a bit less expensive. is the difference in the maker .. HPI or LOSI..

I wouldn't say the Aftershock is made from lesser materials as the design just isn't quite as sturdy as the Savage. That doesn't mean that it's not good, it's just not quite as tough as the Savage is out of the box.
