alright guys got my buggy about two weeks ago and it is now officially broken in and tuned. so I'm going to take it to either the bmx track or up in the woods behind my house where there is fourwheeler jumps. and i was wondering can anyone explain to me how to jump a buggy so it will actually land back on it wheels??:depress: :worship:

I'm not an offroad guy but i think i saw somewhere that if you accelerate nose goes down and if you brake the back goes down( i think) you should also try to hit it as straight as possible so you land the right way

Accelerate brings nose up, brakes nose down.

Balance your car before you out so you know where its heaviest.

Don't be a weenie and try to start out super slow hitting the jumps. Going slow will not get you air, it'll get you nowhere, and you can't control the buggy effectively if you're not giving it anything to control it with. Take it easy at first, but not too easy is what I'm getting at.
Hit that sucker straight on. If your nose goes down hit your throttle. If you nose goes up hit your brakes.
No go hit some jumps and practice practice practice!
Buggies are made to fly. Don't let me down! Also, get a friend to take lots of pics so you can show us!

Although buggies are similar, They can be very different in flight, The above post is correct in most cases, but you just have to feel your buggy out, Start off on some small jumps, about a foot or so high(no brake , no throttle) and watch your buggy as closely as you can while its in the air, You will be able to see its balance strong/weak points as it flies, Just get used to it and work your way up to higher jumps. Dont try and start off jumping at fast speeds at first, you will gradually learn how your buggy handles in the air, soon you will be flyin high, Just be patient and focused and you will be fine!

damnnn this sounds like something out of the karate kid:hehe: but hey thanks alot guys! i will start at about 2 footers and then work up. the biggest at the bmx track is about 12 feet high and is a double so that will be my goal in a few weeks!!

Wax on... Wax off...

IME, hitting the brakes hard will put you on your roof. Usually, if the nose is high, light usage of your brake will even it out. Same goes with the throttle. Just make sure that when you hit the lip of a jump the vehicle is relativly nuetral.

If you come off a jump while pegging the throttle, it will want to flip on you. Same if you let off the throttle while halfway up the ramp, it will want to flip forward on you.

Good luck, buy spare parts.

Anything like this?
[SWF=http://www.error401.com/rc/images/jumps.swf]width='160' height='120'[/SWF]

Best thing to have is real good brakes and an engine that spools up high and quick.

About half of them. The long jump was another guy, and one ot two of the back flips. The MT was me and the next two after that. I think on of the back flips was me too.

That lightning takes a beating.

Hey man, if you don't mind I want to save that so I can show some friends. Got a link?

Thanks, it was just a little swf vid blurb for my site, thought you guys might like it since it was on topic.

BTW, that's the missing footage from the Buggy Bash part 2 video. Damn, getting old is a bitch (I completely forgot about that footage when I was doing the vid). Maybe I'll do a directors cut. Hmmm.

I'm still new to these things (and nitro in general) and I'm amazed by how much power they have. It's so much power that the torque from the wheels spinning can change the pitch of the buggy while it's in the air. Outstanting!

Vid 1

Vid 2

Vid 3

Vid 4

You might need to save them to your p.c. first, but what the hell, its the only vid I have of my buggy thats online friendly. Somewhat. No audio either. They are all pretty much the same jump.

Nice vids you guys!

We should make a dedicated buggy jumping video thread for jump clips

You pull those out of the mothballs C? I remember when you posted those like a year ago. Still cool!

Exact opposite. Gas it and the nose comes up and hit the brakes and nose goes down.
