has anyone seen this engine in action? if so, please give a report. I know ratzo runs the 5-port version, but i have never seen it in action. i am planning on getting one to add to my engine collection. i may even think about getting the 5 port version as my first outlaw motor.

I've seen it, I like the V12 Rody better. The JP seems to make insane top end but not as much grunt as the Rody or the MaxPower. The MaxPower has a very linear and strong powerband. Strong all around. The Rody makes heaps of grunt and does not let up.

I really doubt you will be disapointed in any of the engines mentioned above.

ok. let me make my questions more clear. i would like a report on the JP modified engine only. no comparisons to other engines are needed. i would like to know where the powerband is. what track size it is ideal for? how the car gearing needs to be changed? all the good stuff needed for a car setup changes.

He already know the Max engine and Rody V12 performance on the 710's. Between the engines that 710baby used to run on his serpent and a few other guys we race with, we've seen most of the modded engines used but not the full option mods.

HEY RATZO, how's your JP full option run on your triple R?!? Malachi brother #2 is thinking ... now that's scary to be on the track with him and me! DOH!

I believe the full option is the SAME thing as the regular modified engine but it uses ceramic bearings instead.

Stock
Modified
Modified w/ceramic bearings.

I think thats how it goes, I may be wrong.

It's power band is from mid to top end. I run stock gearing, and the car is crazy fast.
It has lots of punch at low end, but mid to top is just crazy.
Thats the report on the 5 port.
My friend has the 3 port.
Seems like more low end then the 5 port, but less mid and top end.
I recommend them.

ratzo- how's the reliability on tuning and fuel consumption? i would like to get the 5 port but it's not offered on the mugen direct website. that's the site i will be ordering it from because i don't know where i can get one online other than that site. if you can steer me towards another site please let me know.

Bruckner rapes everyone. Sl0eg1n just needs a link to the distributer and the LHS will get it for him. It's good to know the owners

Mugenracing.com distributes them.

They have the 5 port modified version on their website for $399.

If you call, they can probably get the Ceramic bearing version.

Ceramic bearings isn't the only option that sl0eg1n is loking for in the full option package.

Ratzo, do you and your buds still run regularly at that place in Saten Island? Maybe one of these weekends, before it gets too cold (brrrrr, that thought sux) we can meet you up there and Malachi#2 can see it for himself.

I have not been running the last few weeks.
I want to finish the nitro season with offroad.
I'm not sure if there still running.

well i am going to get the engine. it's now a decision between 3 and 5 ports. it's most likely going to be 3port because of the availabilty
