Hey guys thank god i found this place .i have a a jato3.3 i bought used and it runs fine and all...I wanted to reset the hsn and the lsn to my conditions and now it wont idle and the truck dies when i hit the brakes ???I set for factory spec 3.5 turns or 4 for hsn and flush for the lsn the idle screw when it ran i tried to bring idle down and nothing happens when i back it down?I tried everything read manual tons of times just can't get it .i am ready to bring it to the shop for 20 buck an hour but i need to learn this stuff .....any thoughts peeps need help

i have it maxed out and it doesn't even change the rpms >?and does the idle screw on theses stop or keep spinning

I'm not for sure because i dont have a jato. but if u take ur air filter off. and watch the carb while adjust the idle screw u should see it move a little at a time. so u want it set were when u apply ur brakes ur car still idles w/o dieing

Your idle stop screw is too far in. When you hit the brakes it closes your carb up all the way so no air...it dies. On the 3.3 it is on the RHS of the carb behind the air filter. The best way to adjust it is to turn on the radio and open the carb fully the turn the screw in 1/8 turn or so then try it again

Just to make sure you CAN'T turn off the engine by hitting the brakes, make your idle adjustment with the trim knob turned all the way down, and the brake applied. Then set your opening.
Make your final adjustment with the engine running. I only use the idle trim knob during warm up.

yeah +1 to rolex the jato seems to do that after awhile and all it is is simple adjustments mine was the same
