hey guys, have not started my jato 3.3 in about a year. pulled the motor and carb cleaned it out. installed a new glow plug, it started right up. however when i remove the glow ignighter its stalls right away. what the problem?

Are you using an external igniter? If so remove your glow plug and put it on the igniter to see if it's working. If you're using the EZ-Start igniter, you'll want to check to see if the plug is working by touching the glow plug to the head with the blue wire attached and see if the plug works.

Let us know the results so we can go further.

it is an external igniter, the car starts and will stay running until I take the igniter off. As soon as i take it off, it stalls.

Don't know what plug I'm running, got it from the local RC store. It could be bad I guess.

Take off of the engine and put it in your glow igniter to see if it's working.

Are you running fresh fuel? Poor fuel with moisture will not stay ignited from my experience.

sounds like a bad plug i have had the same problems even if it lights up it could not be a 100 percent and cause stalling soon as you pull off ignighter
