Hey Guys,

I have outgrown the tacklebox, and am looking for something bigger to replace it with. The tacklebox goes to the track, or bash session, so I need it to be portable. I went looking this weekend and was not able to find anything. What are you guys using to tote your gear and spare parts to the track? It is tough when you take tires, chargers and such to find a place to store it all. I need to get organized. Thanks guys.

Tom

Short of buying a trailer, what I did is get a folding crate on wheels with a handle (for $10 at the local Big Lots), and pack my starterboxes, radio, and fuel in it.

As for tools, one tackle box for that. Charging equipment, soldering iron and batteries, and an inverter (for powering the soldering iron) in another box (since that's electric-related), and a few parts bins in another box, with a handful of tires.

The cars themselves I carry loose. Then there's the folding chair I toss in the back, and the ice chest.

Good thing I've got a Durango, lol.

Damn Heartbreak.... I thought I carried alot of stuff around! I will take a look at these crates to see if they will work for me. I also carry my trucks loose. I usually pick two and race only those classes, sometimes I only race one class. It doesn't seem to matter though. I still seem to carry the whole shop with me every where I go. Maybe that is what I have to do.... clean all the parts out of the tacklebox and get a bin for the parts, chargers, and nitro.

This bag is the shizzle!

I also use a rubbermaid tote to throw stuff in like starter boxes, rags, etc
For tires (fits truggy and buggy):

I also have a wingtote deluxe I haul the truggy in and it's now all pulled around in this:

Tom, the Plano 777 is a great box, I bought extra boxes and just throw in what I think I'll need. Since I run all Mugen, many of the little rod ends and pins and such are the same for the buggy and truggy so I have two of the bigger boxes filled with misc parts then have other boxes with buggy and truggy specific parts.

Have to rub the trailer in don't ya! LOL

Thanks for the info... I will check these links out. Thank you.

I also run two of the same manufacturer in buggy and truggy. I run the CR and CRT and they both use alot of the same parts. I bash with the T and E maxxes and we all know how compatable they are with each other. LOL Although it would be awesome to have a trailer... it is probably not going to happen. Thanks agin for the links... I will check them out. Take care my friend.

There is that trailer again....have you painted it yet?? Stickers?

I use old milk crates....but i need something better....the tote at amain is the cats ass........but they are out of STOCK!!!!..

Oh well, you will come up with something godale.......but remember kids are in your future...so spend frugally.

Lot of guys at the field use something like this. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=17018-84396-17181110&lpage=none
Mostly just like the bottom part of that one.
They mount a battery in it and cut the side out for a power panel.
I know it looks bulky, but you would just be lifting it in and out of the truck.
Plastic, so if ya have to cut on it to mount something or run a couple of wires out of it's no problem.

Would that suit your needs?

Hey Talon.. you are right the one from A Main's site is the cats ass... but way way out of my price range right now. Like you said... with the family planning to grow.... I have to be a bit more froogle. Thanks again guys.

It looks like Robriguez beat me to the punch. I use the tackle box he shows.

These containers with hinged lids work really well for me.

I am able to haul my ST-R sitting on it's starter box in one of these with the tires mounted. I will have to check on the exact size container I have. There is even room inside for spare tires and parts boxes if needed. They also work well to store your rigs at home since they are heavy duty and stackable.

I picked up one of these at the local home depot for about 90$ a year ago

Product Details
Height 32", 823mm
Length 14", 367mm
Width 22", 579mm
since then I've modified it a bit. Put in some speakers and a 15Watt amp to play some tunes off the MP3 player, Ofna power panel, Fuel pump, 12 40AH Gel cell, glow plug charger, banana jacks to connect my chargers, a fan to vent any fumes out the bottom, 300watt inverter to run anything that can't use DC like my soldering iron and dremal.

still have planes to add in a LCD screen and DVD player for entertainment between heats, and a Mr Microphone so I can heckle the annoncer when he/she screws up or just give the marshalls a wake up call when the car directly behind them is on it's lid and their too busy watching the race or picking their noses. :shuteye:

Thanks Rob, and evilgrin. Man this thread is really, really helpful. Everytime someone posts I get more and more ideas as to what will work for me, and what I am going to need to spend.

Evilgrin... nice box!

I have a generic version of this Stanley roller. I don't quite use it for RC right now, but it's a great inexpensive chest and might just fit the bill. Lists at $33 at Home Depot.

Thanks I got the idea from surfing threw some of the airplane forums saw what some of those guys wee doing and decided to make my own version so far it has been a great success. I normally strap my starter box and onroad car to the top of the box and if I take out my savage I can strap it so it hangs off the front of the box and just roll it out to where ever I plan to race or bash.

Sweet Candyman.. thank you. I will check it out. This is great stuff guys. Keep it coming. I feel more organized already! LOL

Tom

I'll give another recommendation for teh 777 plano box....like jet said you can buy extra boxes and swap em out for what ever you run that day......but the best carry all is a pickup truck since I load teh damn thing down when I go to tthe track.......
