DAMN IT IS AWSOME!!!!!!

Yes I do have to share this with everyone, because I am so into animation and 3d design that this site is a god send.

The first verison of this site was awsome, for the time. I have to let you all know that the V2 is so BAD ASS that it will just blow all of you away, one day once i get out of college, you will see me creating stuff like this..............

*****VERY BIG SITE, MUST HAVE HIGH BANDWIDTH CONNECT*****

%%%%%MUST VIEW INTRO FIRST!!%%%%%
BAD ASS SITE

Sorry man, as far as I'm concerned it's not worth visiting.

I have DSL (768down / 128up) and I'm waiting for the site to load as if I was on dial-up. After over a minute passed it loaded the main menu, from there anything else I clicked on had to wait even longer to load.

I'd give the site a D rating at best. :\

-Michael

yeah same here i got dsl and it was like i was running 28.8k or something. i can't even say if it was cool because it took so damn long to load and was running so slow i just stopped.

My connection's great. I was ready to blame it on his poorly connected host.

It is some good work, though.

The first thought that came to my mind after the intro was "this guy is a legend in his own mind". Great visuals, but very lacking in the content department. Alot of load time, for nothing but "...Coming soon". I bet this site loads pretty quick on a local developement machine, too bad he didn't test it on a remote one to see how long it takes to load.

I read a statistic somewhere that if a page takes a long time to load, most people will either click the back button, the stop button or the home button really fast, like within the first 15 seconds. And if the page takes a really long time to load, most people will not return to that site, ever. I guess the statistics are right, at least for me. The guy has talent, definately, but he's not so great if he thinks his poop is so good that people are going to sit there and bathe in his greatness patiently waiting for contentless pages to load (even if the pages are graphicly pleasing). I wonder what he considers "High Bandwidth", local machine perhaps?

I checked it out and left after about 45 secs. I'm sure it's cool, but I'm not waiting all day to find out

wow you guys dont know what you are missing it took me a whole 30 sec. to dl the whole intro movie, and i only waited like 4 sec in between checking out other parts of his site, I am running cable, but i thought i was slow compared to all of you.... hmmmm... prolly high traffic time right now.....

There is MUCH better flash work out there. He REALLY needs to get a grip on his pre-loader. The movie will start to play even if you dont have all of it downloaded (yes, I know, thats the player setting on my side) but, he can stop that from happening.

Anyhow, it was a good effort at combining real video with flash. That impressed me.

Beyond that, its a hell of a lot of bandwidth for nothing.

-Chris

ouch Zoomer, doesn't look like there is a ringing endorsement for the guy here.

The intro was a quicktime movie (7.6 Mb to be exact, check you temp internet files). That's pretty big for such a short duration movie (60 seconds to be exact, I just clocked it).

And another thing about what he said in that intro. The internet really doesn't have any dimensions. All that crap about "where do you want to go today" we have all heard from Redmond, it's BS. Everywhere I "go" looks just like a picture on a monitor that's sitting on my desk in my computer room in my house. You don't go anywhere, you just access information in the ethereal abyss that is called the internet. You're still sitting at your desk, in your home, reading this. You're not in my home, I am. We haven't gone anywhere. The screen is still 2D, and the sound is still not quite surround. Whatever.... The dude needs to get grounded a bit. We all know that Bill C.'s buddy invented the internet, not that guy.

Oh yeah, one last thing.... The first thing I thought of when I heard the music in the intro was this:

http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail45.html

Much funnier and much smaller than that huge 60 second intro.

Let me tell you what i think about this site... Yes it takes a long time to load but ... it is great. I have been working on flash for about a half of year... and my work comes nothing close to it sure it takes a long time to load but this guy has some mad skill... when people see some singer or group and they say they suck i get sort of mad cause i know how hard it is to make a band sound good... so anyone with a record lable is good... but to get back on track... i am sure we will see some of his work on some websites... one day i hope to be That Good!!!!!!!!! :spidey:

Hey, no doubt that the guy has skill. Maybe it's just that he's ahead of the technology curve. Someday everyone will have fiber running to their house at multi gigabit speed (cable is ~10megabit). It's just a shame that once you sit through all the load times, and finally get to the services "page" and actually want to see, or inquire about his services, most (if not all) end up saying "currently unavailable". I've seen some ok sites by some real hotshots that get the job done and acutally offer something. I guess it would be like modding a BWM (or such) so it looks like a friggin rocket and putting a Yugo engine in it. If it don't go nowhere, so what if it looks fast.

I wouldn't know if the guy has skillz or not. I bolted before I could watch it. If I saw it, and it was good, I would give him the props he deserves. Shoot I ain't no hater
