ISO a older Rustler 2WD chassis and top plate. Must date 2013 or older. And also ISO of a cheap hobbywing 17.5 esc/motor combo.

If your asking why, well to run my rustler in a vintage points series.

Edit: Can also do a mod brushed system.

Class rules states chassis must date 2013 or older. All the Rustler chassis has been the same since early 2022 since I got the 2022 revision chassis on mine which is flatter on the bottom. Idk if I would be able to qualify and if the new chassis being "flatter" will make a difference. 🤷‍♂️

I was dumb and last year gave my stock chassis the car came with (I got the car in 2020) to my buddy. I known I should have kept it. But I sent it away for a good use since he does some pretty nice drag projects.

Where do you find the date on the chassis?

Idk. The rules say it has to date 2013 or older. Maybe the design of it? Like I said and if I am right, the chassis design was the same since release till about 2022, and 2022 to now is a new revision chassis with a flatter bottom. Edit: Maybe very very small revisions like battery tray size. 🤔

And not that flatter bottom ya weirdos ;)

Easiest way to tell the new ones say traxxas on the bottom. The old ones have a hump laying down the length of the chassis underside and the walls in the battery tray.

The top deck on the old one has a raised square on the left and right side. The new ones have rectangles.

This design came out in late 2007. The tranny I'd the old peg gear, plastic more than likely. That's an xl1 tranny from the mid to late 90s.

Curious if the older tranny is required as well... seems kind of odd to only care about the age of the chassis plate...
My thinking was just getting a older chassis and putting it on my current car so I could run it. 🤷‍♂️

This was my uncles rusty - in 2013

That is actually a later revised chassis, in 2007 the waffle ribs in the battery bay were rounded up the side a ways to better cradle shotgun style packs, I had to grind mine out to fit my matched cell side by side pack. Also that notch in the the front of the battery bay for the wires was not there on earlier chassis, upper or lower.
