hi, I'm new and I have a problem. ok so I just got a Duratrax Nitro Evader used I have never done this nitro stuff before. so my problem is when I try to start it, it comes on at full throttle and it won't shut off unless I turn off the transmitter or if I pull the trigger it comes down but then dies. any idea why it would be doing this?

thanks
-Mike

Check the throttle trim as what benwahballz suggested. The best way is to try it before you fire it up.
Turn on transmitter and the receiver. Reset the throttle on you transmitter.
Many things could goes wrong. But, that is the first thing you have to try. Goodluck :)

Need a few things answered?

RADIO type?

Engine? Slide? Rotary?

Prop the car so it won't fly off/ I recommend putting it facing a wall. With the radio OFF, RECIEVER OFF check the opening of the carb to make sure it is opened about 1mm. Then start the ride.

Does she idle fine? If so then your problem is electronics.
Check to see the servo isn't getting obstructed by wires , linkages..air filter ETC.
You could be having a glitch within your ride due to metal to metal rubbing.

If not then you have a mechanical problem.

I await your response!

good point VB! check your TX. Does Turning the wheel turn your wheels? or the throttle?

If turning the steering turns the wheels then your servoes are plugged in wrong. If they just do the opposite then just reverse that one servo.

thanks for all the quick responses, I will check it out again tomorrow and see what I can do.

thanks

ok I guess the channel was reversed, fixed that and now forward and brakes work like they should I though tI checked that last night but I guess not. problem is now it won't even start at all... any more ideas?
oh yea someone wanted to know specs:
Engine: .18 (3.0cc) two stroke Duratrax pull-start with two needle
rotary carb, heavy duty connecting rod, and dual ball bearings
Exhaust: Tuned pipe with header
Radio: Futaba Two channel AM pistol grip with trims, adjustable steering
rate, battery LED, charge jack for optional NiCd batteries, two
standard servos, and BEC receiver

check your opening on the carb. sounds like your opening is not set right. use your ISS to adjust this. you may have to re set the other needles.

Hey insted of using tacks you could use track spikes if you could find them. Drill holes and find some nuts to skrew them into the tire. You can get really big ones or small ones.just an idea, dads a track coach.

Woops sorry wrong thread mb

Danm now i feel stupid.

ok, turns out this kid my brother knows is good at this stuff so I took it over to his house, made a few adjustments had it running in 5 minutes. thanks for all the help.
