Man, when dealing with Ebay it is almost a hit and miss thing.

ALLWAYS check feedback. If you think there may be a problem Do not bid. As a seller on Ebay the individual has sworn to understand and follow the TOS agrement put forth by PayPal and Ebay, so unless they erally screw you you are almost allways covered. The only thing I could think of in a (worst case) scenario is a person selling a high dollar item and then shutting down all his accouts and running for the hills or something- But I am pretty sure Ebay guards against things like that. There are people on Ebay who make a living out of scamming others, for instance some people sell an email list of sites where you get "free" goods, like an Ipod. you get the email and it is a list of popups you get everyday on your computer. Notice thier feedback. they dscribed everything perfectly in the add, and others don't want negative feedback as well, so they put something like "got what I expected..." or the likes. Ebay is a VERY touchy place IMO and I too have been ripped off s a few times, but I grin and bear it.

Chances are, if they put everything in big bold letters and have thier own little header and buyer specifications they are a reputable dealer. BUT, if someone put in huge letters, "TRUST US! WE HAVE PERFECT FEEDBACK" I would about-face and high tail it like Nitro_Freak1 was selling another model.

In any case, write them. Find out where they are and if they are for real. If you need to get a phone number and verify.

Buying ANYTHING on the internet is ALWAYS risky, but some choose to take that risk and most of the time they are rewarded with a good buying experence. Just be carefull man.

I wouldn't be afraid of buying from him. 41 is not a lot but he's not a noob either, he's been the seller a few times and has been on eBay since 03.

jetmechg550 to you 41 aint nothing. but thats a week of allowence i might loose.

A WEEK!! HOLY S**T!! I don't even make $5 a WEEK on allowence. Anyways, listen to Tweak...he knows what he's doing on ebay!

DannyD, before you worry about buying this via eBay, I'd worry about the rig you're looking at itself. I haven't seen too many Ofna Pirates lately, and from personal experience, Ofna parts are a bit tough to find at my LHS'. Before I'd go plunking down my money on this, I'd check around and make sure you can still get parts for this thing first. That mill looks a tad rough to me, but it could just be the picture quality.

As to your PM, yes, I did get it and will get back to you on it.

yeah i see your point. the engine does like it got the crap beat out of it. my lhs doesn't have parts for it either. so I'm not getting it

IMO A good move on your part friend.

I like to always do a little research on an item before I buy it on Ebay. If I am going to by any model I want to make sure I can find some good hop-ups before I get to enthusiastic about buying.

Recently, my wife decided she would like to try playing a violin. Personally, I know jack squat about the instrument, but i figured I could wing it on Ebay, found somethign I thought looked good and dropped a c-note all in about an hour of browsing. Of course, we got it in the mail and it was complete crap. every piece of this thing, i mean, was COMPLETE crap. I left positive feedback and continued my search. If I would have done a bit mroe research I am sure I could have got something a little better, but I wanted to get her exactly what she wqanted and got screwed. ALLWAYS make sure you look around and do some research man, it wll save you time and money in the long run.

The shipping seems a bit high for my taste.

It's already going for 50.00 bux dispite the 4.00 bid because of the high shipping. That auction still has 9 days left to go. I would keep an eye on it but probaly wouldn't mess with it. I would check out RushRC and see what Bruce has in your price range. I think most of his stuff is pretty well known brands and in good shape.
