IMO unless your rock crawling or drifting a locked diff is not that great. It hurts steering and can be hard to control depending on the rc you are using. It's also hard on the drive train.

are you running the savvy in high traction areas. (grass)

grass gravel dirt track anywhere really if it will drive accross it it goes on it
 
its really up to you on whether you want to do that. if you do decide to lock it only lock the rear diff though
 
i have the rear diff in my tmaxx locked and it really doesn't make too much of a turn issues
