little back history

I bought 2 small tomato plants a few months ago, and planted them in a 3 gallon clay pot. they seem to be growing well, and are covered in tomatoes. i water them daily since we haven't had much rain, they are in a pot, and the plants are so dense, rainwater doesn't get in the pot when it does rain.

now my problem, I've had two tomatoes start to ripen already, and both have a large rotten/bad spot on the bottom. any ideas what I'm doing wrong??

maybe a stoil ph test would help but I'm not a gardener I'm just useing the power of google.

I'm sure your root system is too small.
Bone meal in the soil would also help.

so i went to the depot and they gave me some lime pellets. in the ingredients it has 21% calcium, and they said to sprinkle a little on them once a month.

next year I'm doing a raised garden so i hopefully wont have this problem
