Welcome to RCNitroTalk!

As for the Traxxas Slash, a member named Gundragon has a Slash and really likes it. I'd like to get one but I'm really hoping they create an electric 4WD version. They do have a nitro powered 4WD slash called the Traxxas Slayer!

The Slash is awesome. It is one of those trucks that is fun to drive and makes you smile. And when you want to go even faster, its brushless ready. It is also one of the first cars on the market to have full hop ups available before the car was.....
Buy one. You WILL like it.

Like WoodiE said I have a Slash and REALLY enjoy it. This being my first R/C and if I keep having this much fun with it, can't wait for the brushless setup, I think I will be racing these more and more in the future. Very solid truck in my honest opinion so far.

can i go in snow watter and deep snow and mud? I'm a heavy off roader

The Slash is waterproof. So much as it will run safely through puddles and snow, but dont take it swimming in the pool. Not sure if the tyres will float her across soft snow though. They might..

The more mud that gets in the motor, the harder it is on the brushes. But the titan motors are really cheap to replace, around $15 i believe. I've ordered some slash's, and I have a pair coming as soon as I send the payment. I just spent $1000 on my crawlers last week, so I'm waiting until I recoup the budget to pay for the slash's. I will be keeping one stock and I already have a Novak GTV/Velocity 6.5 brushless system to run on LiPo for the other one. Go to the electric section and find the slash videos, or just go to my profile, click on "find all threads by charliestheman" in statistics, and find my slash video thread.
