Looking for a good motor for my LST project. That's the stock engine, but should I look for something better?

If it's good enough for the Losi XXL it's gonna be a beast in the LST.

P.S. The stock engine was the Mach .26...

Rumor and everything I've read/heard is it's a clone to LRP Z.28 with exception of the carburetor. Actually not a clone by the rumor,it says Losi bought the Z.28 tooling which is why LRP sells the .30 now

That's what I've been hearing too. Now I need to find a header pipe that fits the Losi exhaust. It has the spring connect, and the Ofna header pipe I have uses the silicone boot.

i thought the lrp z.28r amd the losi 454 where made by sh engines. i'm not 100% sure, but a friend of mine at the track runs the 454 and it looks blockwise identical to a z.28r. but both motors scream for sure

So, you need a header to fit your pipe? The aftershock one requires the coupler as well:

May want to look on ebay and pick up a losi HT pipe/header combo. That pipe works really well with the LRP28S3. I run it on my savage and aftershock with the LRP's. Since the 454 is a "clone", should be a good fit for it as well.

That header pipe won't work on the Mutilator chassis. The exhaust port faces the rear, and the pipe sits on the left side of the chassis. I need a U-shaped header for it.

Oh... you said "lst project", so I figured it was for an LST chassis of some sort. Is that not a photo of your rig? What's wrong with the header you have now?

These should work:

That last one might be a bit wide for a buggy. I use it on my side exhaust BB revo because it's longer and can reach out further.

EDIT:
I think I just realized what you were asking... you need a header to work with your LST pipe on your truggy...

This is from the muggy, which uses a similar pipe to the LST:

Sorry, I'm an idiot! ;)

Sorry, I actually forgot about that. Kinda had to be put on hold to worry about two I have now. The 454 that was intended to go on the LST at a much later date ended up being used for the Muti, because I stripped out the glow plug threads in the head button on my Force .32. That engine was getting too old to keep running anyway, starting to lose compression.
