Is REVO worth the money?

aside from the durability and the pure enjoyment/excitement of driving it, absolutely nothing. If you are considering one I would go for it, especially at $370.

wish i bought it over my SUT. not that my truck isnt competitive. all the stuff i had 2 do to it 2 make it even work right and stay 2gether. could have been a revo much easier. i finished behind 5 of them at a monster race last wk. says somethin 4 the truck.

It just seems like anything Traxxas puts out, everyone wants. If they added a couple mods to the T/E-Maxx today and offered it as "The new T/E-Maxx 2" for $500 people would buy them like crazy.

I think it depends what crowd you are talking about. I think for people new to the hobby its a name that they recognize. Most hobby shops that I know of will recommend Traxxas to the new people. In general they have the reputation of being "user-friendly".

Then you'll have those that have had a Traxxas and are loyal to that brand. The old saying; "if it ain't broke don't fix it". So, if the Traxxas has been nothing but good to them, no need to change.

There are also TONS of mods for the T-Maxx, so if you are into "fixing up" your truck its a good choice.

Now when it comes to the Revo, I like what I see in its design features, the laydown shocks very similar to what is used in F1, the chassis, just a good all around design in my opinion.

So, where can you get one for 370?

I dissagree. I bought my revo because I thought it was the coolest most well thought out truck. It had nothing to do with Traxxas. Infact I'm not a fan of the T-Maxx. I think that the revo is MUCH better. All you have to do is look at the engineering of it.

I have to wonder where anyone has seen a Revo for sale, new, for less than 400.00. Right now the Revo is on sale here in So Cal at Hobby People for 429.00 and for 439.00 at Ultimate Hobbies. The regular retail is 449.00 at Hobby People and some stores are selling it for 499.00. The MSRP is 650.00!

That said, ran mine again yesterday. Always amazes me how much speed the thing can pick up in second gear! And I am still on my first plug. Might go find an open field today and run it in dirt for the first time.

A lot of people who Hated Traxxas, and swore they would never get anything from them again, have gotten Revos now. Traxxas got it right this time.

2.5R....................It seems you eithert get a good one or one you can't tune. I really didnt have too much trouble with mine.

Its a small block in a monster truck that makes it garbage. In a Truck you need a lil torque. Beyond that motor its actually a pretty good truck.

I've had good luck with the 2.5 in my Tmaxx, but MOST of the engines I have to tune and retune at the track are 2.5s. The 2.5R in the Revo doesn't seem to have the tuning issues.

I have yet to own a mt, but I have seen a revo, mgt, and tmaxx on the track at the same time, and the revo kept up with the mgt, the mgt had quite abit of hop ups, stronger engine shocks, it is set up for racing! The revo was stock, and he was still having problems with his shock ends. Needless to say its a great truck for the money, I still would like to see traxx sell a truck with a big block in it!
