Hey thanks for the video, just saw it. The .25 i put in the xl started right up sounded good, good warm day too, just didn't get enough time on it due to the dang throttle servo. but the engine sounded and acted like it wass ready to due some serious bashing. figured i'd have to adjust it, maybe a lil anyway. but didn't even get that far before the servo went out. may go to Little Rock to hobbytown and get a servo so i can have some fun. and thanks for the video, just saw it but i'll be watching it a few times as a refresher for the .25 !!

No problem.

Just FYI, You shouldn't really be getting mad about a stock servo going bad, they are not that good anyway.

Ok, gee, well, my $639.00 was pretty darn good and i coulda bought whatever i wanted since it was my birthday, so FYI, when I or anyone on here plunks down hard earned cash they expect a quality product. We should not have to UNDERSTAND that things go bad. I didn't give them defective cash, I guess this is just my opinion but i think you should get a quality product for that much money, not one you have to immediately upgrade. sure things break, but man it shouldn't break one thing after another when it's new. JUST MY OPINION but hey, my $639 darn dollars didn't go bad. neither should a brand new rigg. One thing, ok but the engine, shocks, and servo really man!!!!

The Savage is a good quality product. I plunked down the same hard earned money you did for mine, also had the same problems but I'm still very happy with my truck as is my neighbor with his. Who also plunked down the same kind of cash you did. I mean what the hell dude you come on here and rave about HPI and their customer service. Hell you're even getting a brand new engine from them free of charge. Sounds like to me they were willing to do anything to try and make you happy and now you want to bitch about how much money you spent? plus rant about how much their products suck? Go buy a T-MAXX and see how much money one them will suck out of your wallet. I know guys who have spent over a grand on those little money pits just so thay can bash with a Savage. I know because I used to be one them.

Well, first of all i agree i do think the savage is a good product, but as far as you, your neighbor, and anyone else for that matter is concerned. I just bet you were just as pissed as me when your rigg broke, don't act like you were jumping up n down thinking gee, i get to spend more cash, you expect a certain return is all i ment, and i am not sure about you but do to the fact that some jerk busted up my family, i get one darn month with my son now. so you see, it's not really the fact that it's giving me problems, it's the fact that i wasn't the darn one who cheated and i ended up getting one month a year with my son. wouldn't you be just a lil upset? well, maybe you wouldn't, but i got into rc trucks to spend more time with my son. so i apologize to all, but it just sucks being the big looser when she was the one who cheated on me.

And another thing, i do appreciate HPI trying to make things right. i personally wouldn't care if it sat for a year if it wasn't for my son. You know it's funny, people do things without thinking of how many people (especially kids) they are gonna hurt and destroy. I wouldn't wish what i went through on my worst enemy, not even on the man she cheated with. thats how it hurt. I'll allways be a Savage man, but everyones life isn't simple as some would think. anyway again, i apologize to all i ment no harm, but man, it's sure been hard since the divorce, but life goes on and i will get this rigg fixed so it's one bad lad. I will upgrade everything i can this winter, but i wanna at least enjoy it for a little while. that's not asking too much, or heck, maybe it is ????

P.s................................................no p.s. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you love something, set it free, if it doesn't come back, it was never yours anyway !! BURL IVES

AND ONE MORE THING, I am going to buy another Savage for christmas, probably a Savage x or a savage xss kit, so i am in no way knocking HPI, THEY ARE THE MOST AWESOME, SPECTACULAR, STUPENDOUS, TERIFFIC, RC COMPANY IN THE WHOLE WORLD, FOR THEY TRULY ARE THE REASON I EXIST. (well, maybe that's a lil over the top) but i am a die-hard savage man.

Tell you what man, go buy a servo, fix your truck and take it to the skate park with your son. When you see the smile on his face you'll forget about all that other crap. I had the same thing happen to me about 13 years ago no kids involved thank god. I didn't know your situation so I too aplogize if it seemed like I was jumping on you. Some people women mostly just don't realize or just don't care how the desicions they make affect the people around them. P.S. I know stuff like this is hard but someday you will have to just let it all go. Life is too short to go through it pissed off and angry all the time. Besides what goes around comes around and kharma is bitch I have found that to be true. I don't wish bad things on other people either the universe seems to take care of those people for me. ;)

thanks, i went to Hobbytown usa and bought a Futaba s3004 servo for my throttle/brake, figured it should get me through till HPI sends a replacement out. should be good shape as i am picking up my son this weekend. gonna take the savage to the park for some minor tuning and make sure its ready for my son. also bought some o.s. #8 glow plugs, gonna see how the savage .25 engine does with one, got a hpi r5 cold in it now and gonna be running wildcat eliminator 20%. I hope the savage xl will wheelie with the .25, don't remember much about how good those engines were, thing is, this one was almost brand new so i put it back as a spare. oh, nice rigg by the way, i'll be looking for another to use as a spare when one of mine is down.

This one sure was !!!!!!!!!! GOOD ONE ! Happy to report the Savage xl has its new servo installed ( i just put it in) and is ready for a test session at the local park. the futaba s3004 was easy to install and a bad servo was definately my problem. I am still wonderin if this rigg will have enough power to wheelie with the .25, i'll find out soon oh, and i got some o.s. #8 glow plugs to see if it likes those better than the Hpi r5's in it now. What do you guys think personally of a HPI .25 mill ? good power and easy to keep tuned i hope ! lol

well, started up the savage xl today with the .25 in it, tuned on it for a while and finally thought i got it pretty good, with that being said (THIS ENGINE SURE AINT DRUNK WITH POWER) to be honest i don't know much about this engine so it may be well-worn. idles well, truck changes gears good, it just don't act like its a powerhouse, but it does seem to stay running, its fun to drive and this will do till i get a replacement mill from HPI. so i very happy. oh, yea, changed glow plug to o.s. #8, it liked that my roto-start battery went dead but tomorrow i'll tune on her sum more. maybe i can squeeze a lil more outta this tired ole .25 mill !!!

update, got my .25 tuned, savage xl ready for the park. thanks all for the help.
