Is it? I was wondering because my Rustler and RS4 manual says to clean the vehicle with Denatured Alcohol. Is Rubbing Alcohol and Denatured Alcohol the same thing:nuke:? Can I use that? Thanks!:n00bie:

No, not the same.

Run to home depot or even value if you have one and pick up a gallon for a couple of bucks. Comes in a can like paint thinner.

Good stuff too!

No, denatured alcohol has no water in it and doesn't hurt any metal or plastic. Rubbing alcohol has water, not sure how it cleans. You can get denatured alcohol at a local hardware store for about $8 a gal. (look in the paint section)

Both can be use for cleaning. I like rubbing alcohol better because of the smell, denatured alcohol smells nasty! Just don't clean your engine parts with rubbing alcohol and you will be fine.

Christian, how did your post get ahead of mine? Thats weird:confused:

Anyways get a industrial spray bottle, it helps blast the dirt away.

No it won't, unless its inside your engine. It can cause the internal parts to rust. I have been cleaning my chassis, brake disc, etc.. with rubbing alcohol, I haven't notice any rust for those parts, but I got a feeling it can rust internal engine parts. I would try, but I don't have a cheap engien to mess up.
