I've got a great project idea for my first official RC Rock Crawler... but I have 2 issues.
1. The body I want to use only comes in 1/10th scale, with a wheel base of 190mm. I want a much larger car for running around and crawling around. (And the chassis I've been looking at all have a wheelbase of 285-340mm).

2. I would like a faster RC Crawler. I know it may be a bit blasphemous to make a 'fast' crawler, but I'm replicating my real life lifted rallye car. I'm looking for around 40kmh (25mph).

QUESTION: Does anyone know how to upscale a Transparent Clear Body ShelI.
And, what do you all think about the Carisma SCA 1E Coyote as a platform for the build. Its got a wheelbase of 285 (easier to match with the body I've chosen). And its a kit so i can add my own ESC, battery, motor, etc. That way I can build it to be faster.

Have you seen the Gmade R1? It has a tube chassis, but comes with body mounts for plastic bodies. Probably one of the only "fast" crawlers with a small enough chassis for a body. It cimes with a 27 turn motor, but I recommend getting a $20 Axial 20 turn motor, which makes it faster and does not strain the ESC. It also has Portal axles.

An older photo of my gmade R1 that I got when I was 13 in stock form.

Just looked at a few videos, and it looks plenty fast for what i want! I see a couple different options ranging from $220 to $350. First thought was cheaper meant no battery, radio, esc, and maybe some other things. More expensive was ready to go out of the box. But readying the descriptions shows different. What am i missing that differentiates these guys?

Get tre RTR. The stock electronics are great. Here is an old video of mine when it was mostly stock.

Get the expensive one. Also, you should get the delrin skid plate for any version at it triangulates the lower links and makes it so there is less side to side play.

The bottom link "even more expensive" is a GOM and not a R1. The GOM is not what you want.

They used to do that a lot in around 2006 when crawler bodies didn't exist, or were pickup truck styled and top heavy. The rally body was something that had a round roof so it could flip back over easily and had a lower profile.

Picture from 2006 Nationals. Probably an HPI Wheely King with custom chassis.
