interior paint transfers?

does anyone use paint transfers? i followed the instructions exactly painted the truck and it looked pretty but after about a week the larger paint transfers started cracking and appearred to be shrinking. after about another week i masked it back up and painted a few more coats of white and it cracked again. anyone know what i did wrong or are the paint transfers just not a good idea? maybe i should just stick with interior decals until i am more experienced. it still looks pretty good for my first body just has a few cracks. gonna try to put a couple pics up for ya.

I'm not sure I know what you mean by "Paint Transfers". Are they self sticking or are they reversed water slide decals?

They are the ones by Jackal that use water to apply similar to temp tattoos.

yeah they are the ones jackal makes. you put them on like a temporary tattoo with a wet cloth then let em dry and paint over them, they're supposed to bond with the paint but i dont remember reading anything about them shrinking or cracking. i was really careful when i aplied them i couldn't find any air bubbles.

I think the biggest trick is really light coats of paint and thoroughly drying between them.

I agree with Racer, several very light coats, and use water based paints, and you should be fine. I never used the Jackal decals but I have used some temp tatoos a long time ago on a wing that was on my first XXX-NT, it worked great and only cost .50 at Walbaums.

I just did a body with the jackal transfers and it turned out pretty good but what racer said is the light coats is the key and letting the coats dry between coats
