Does anyone recommend running a tap into the hole of plastic parts before installing them or is it better to just tap the threads with the screw? I'm not sure about this either way... using the screw could cause the threads to run crooked it they arent lined up correctly. Whats the general consenses on this one?

I just run the screw in. You can use a cordless drill if it's too hard to turn by hand.

I havent tried it yet and didnt think of how hard it would be but i was thinking about ..." what if i dont thread it straight"

Just line it up the best you can, it will straighten itself as it goes deeper.
