I picked up an Infraction Mega at the $149 blowout price and decided to see what I could do to make it unique.
Had this Pro-Line 1956 Ford F100 body kicking around looking for a home, so why not try to make it fit?
The body has the aerodynamics of a barn, but this will be a Hooner and not a speed runner.
Wheelbase is right on but the track width is way too narrow. Best fix is to convert the A arms, driveshafts and turnbuckles to Typhon spec.
I used Vorteks upper diff housings front and rear and some ebay shocks I had on hand.
A arms are Typhon RPM.
Turnbuckles are Traxxas TRA3643 82mm for the cambers and TRA 3644 69mm for the steering. These are steel shafts with steel ball ends- much better than stock and only needed a .5mm shim to fit snugly. Had to replace one ball end on each steering turnbuckle with a wider one, otherwise they all fit perfectly with plenty of adjustment range.
17mm hexes are Traxxas 5353R that fit just right.
Wheels are AliExpress $18 "TOVO" 100mm/42mm. Shipping seems to be getting quicker from China- ordered on 9/10 and received on 9/19.
Added a metal motor plate, driveshaft bearing and a 50t 32p Vendetta slipper.
Used longer body posts in the outer position of the Infraction front and rear bumper/ splitter.
Serviced the diffs to get rid of binding and filled them with Lucas Red N Tacky.
Waiting on Typhon driveshafts from Jennys, then the suspension and drivetrain will be done.
Debating on using the Infraction sway bars, some mods will be required to attach them to the RPM A arms. TBD.
I already have a DumboRC X6 TX/RX with gyro, Quicrun 10BL120 G2 ESC and Quicrun 3660SL G2 3150KV motor ready to drop in.
Planning on upgrading the steering linkage to aluminium and servo to 35kg coreless.
I'm going to use the roll bar from the Infraction and add a wing and front and rear lighting.
Body masking is in progress, still not sure of what paint color/scheme to go with. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Really liking Arrma 3s- so much interchangeability between models. Kinda "mix-n-match".
This one makes three- getting an "Arrma Army" going on here!

the detta looks great! would the aliexpress tires fit on your vendetta?
Thanks! I didn't really like the 'detta body at first but it's starting to grow on me.
If you convert over to 17 mm hubs and do some body cutting I believe they would fit.

Well, it's pretty much finalized now (yeah-right).
A lot of experiments with different 3s parts sets from JennysRC yielded this mashup.
Discovered that Slash bodies can fit, even the post holes line up.
Plenty of wheel well clearance even with off road tires.
Ended up with Senton 3s diff covers, bumpers and body post set with Typhon RPM A arms, driveshafts, wheels, shocks and Traxxas steel turnbuckles.
Hobbywing Quicrun 10BL120 G2 ESC and a Hobbywing Quicrun 3660 3150KV motor with a 5mm shaft.
Currently running the Vendetta 50t spur/slipper with a 17t pinion but have a Kraton 4s 57t steel spur/slipper assy on order.
Also planning on upgrading the stock servo and steering gear.
Added some Chinesium shock tower extensions.
Radio set is a DumboRC X6 with gyro.
Here's the chassis...

Here's the main body I'll be bashing with... Cheapo Slash 2wd pre-painted body that I added vent holes, drywall tape, plasti-dip and lots of bumpers all around.
"Eye of the Tiger"!
DUM-DA-DUM...
Even has a tail! (I know... it's a Cheetah tail not a Tiger tail)

Here's a Pro-Line Flo-Tek Fusion body on the same chassis done in Spaz Stix green/gold with metallic black accents... Prob my "shelf queen" body. It's pretty flimsy with all the air hole cutouts.

And here's the '56 Ford body. I've decided to do a patina paint scheme on this, go for the "junkyard dog" vibe. Prob another shelf queen.

Never knew that Slash bodies were an option... tons of choices now!
