Does anyone know where the best place to get an M8 at for the best price??? Would you go with the Synth. Or Crystals what are the pros and cons. I currently have a JR XS3 with 2 recievers and looking to upgrade to an M8 any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks..............James :smoke:

What I would do (and actually just did) is order the base M8 model at Tower for around $200 (don't forget to use their coupon code) and then pre-order the DSM Spectrum module for it from Horizon. It actually winds up being about the same as the sythesized set in price and it's better technology.

Yeah, but do you only have one car? Are you going to replace all youy other Rx? I'm looking for an M8, and a Novak FM syn. Tx so I can run all my other cars, and get a DSM for my MBX-5, since it is the only one I run that gives me trouble. This I blame on the fact that I run inside a steel pole barn with upto about 20 other people or so.

Yeah, I'm going to get extra receivers for my other cars. They cost about the same as the Novak receivers. Actually, less I believe.

james, If you're looking for a rock sloid bottom price, check for them used on ebay or on the for sale areas on various RC boards. The best thing to do, however, is to order one through your LHS. You'll pay more, but you'll have given some support to your LHS. If your don't support your LHS, they won't support you.

Also, here is a tip. I've heard a lot of people say that they use the JR synth RX with the Airtronics synth TX setup. I've never tried it myself.

I currently use a JR XS3 Tx with the RS300 Rx that it came with, a R200 (I think) FM w/crystals that my MTX-3 came with (bought used), and a Novak XXtra FM syn. Rx. No problems, unless I'm in that barn. Then I get a glitch or two once in a while, but never a run away since I took out the failsafe, and only run 4 tanks per charge of the old Rx pack. :2cents:

Ok Guys I have a JR XS3 and 2 rs300 synth. recievers will the m8 work with the 75 mghrtz. module radio with my recievers, provided I have the number crystals that co-inside with my recievers??? Thanks for all the help guys................James and which do you recommend....

Yes, as long as the Tx, and Rx are both 75 Mhz FM they will work together.

Crysstals, or syn. either way.

I second that.
No issues here with that exact same setup.

You gotta be kinda careful. There are positive shift and negaitve shift radio systems. For this reason only certain brands are compatible with each other. JR works with Aritronics and Helios. Hitec I think works with Futaba. Hitec and Novak both make versions of their receivers for JR, Airtronics and Futaba so it gets kinda weird.

Please don't take what I've said right here as being 100% accurate because I've never mixed brands, but don't charge out there and assume you can pick up any 75mhz TX/RX combo and expect them to work. Do a lot of research before you buy.

I got my M8 of ebay for 183.00 dollars with shipping brand new and it works great just keep looking on ebay you'll find on.

M8 on the way 75 mgrtz. with 2 servos and reciever........160.00 Shipped hope it works........We'll see......James
