hey guys I'm going to be buying my first nitro truck in a few days... i have been looking around online but i figured you guys could be more helpful.

I'm looking for a good reliable truck to do jumps and mess around with(go off jumps, drive around muddy/ dusty places

i like the look of the traxxas Slayer is it going to be to much of a "race" truck not a "play" truck and thats about my maximum price range 400 or less is there any other trucks that you think would fit my needs.

that looks like a great truck

i haven't heard about HPI but of course I'm new to the sport i also like the abundance of different bodies available does anyone know about HPI trucks are the internals good, are the gears gonna strip? but from the appearance of the truck it looks great i saw the hemi cuda body as well as the "grave robber" they look great

IMO, the Savage is hands down the most durable truck out of the box. They just take a beating and come back for more. There are tons of bodies available for the Savage, or just about any monster trucks for that matter.

I would look at Losi

They have the Aftershock which is a great truck. It has a very nice layout and is a strong truck. Handles like a Revo, but takes a beating like a Savage. Has 4 MASSIVE shocks that absorb the impact and a all steel transmission. The XR2i computerized Radio is a great starting radio thats 10 times better then the Revo (slayer) or Savage has, and also has duel Metal Geared servos to turn the massive wheels. It's bigger then a Savage and Tmaxx or Revo and at a great price. Only 334.99

personaly i would go for the savage! get the LRP .28Z engine lol i want 1!!! lol and HPI must be one of the biggest makes going so you will hear alot more about them! i should no I'm new aswel lol

I would go with the savage deffinently more durable but the price is also a little higher then the t-maxx. With my t-maxx though I have been very satisfied with it but I would definently buy one of these two.:hehe:

I think you got a good deal. Did you get the 4.6x?

Sounds like you got a pretty sweet deal to me ! Is the 7.2 for the roto-start ? BTW, let's see some pics of it !:D

yeah it has all the stuff with it i started using it this afternoon done braking it in but the glow plug thing died so its charging but when its done ima drive it and the creak behind my house the mud will be sick i'll be sure to take some pictures

I learned the hard way

All I can say is if the people at the counter dont know the difference between a glow plug and a fuel pump come back when someone who knows about them is working. I feel this way because I baught mine from a store (hungates) and the only usful info I have found has been on the web. I could have got a better price on the same buggy on the web but I was looking for service that did'nt happen.
