Yeah it will be a great first nitro truck! It's built like a brick and can take just about anything you throw at it.

is it true that the savage x 4.6 can do wheelies on command right out of the box?

what would be the best MAH number on the 7.2 v battery stick to get for the roto start on my savage?

The higher, the better. Mah is the capacity rating. Get the biggest that you can afford, as long as you have a charger that is sufficient to charge it. You don't wanna buy a 4600mah pack if all you have to charge with is a 1 amp charger, and don't wanna buy another. You'll be waiting an awfully long time for it to charge.

Absolutely the higher the better and get a good quick charger i use a Dynamite Mega Dual E. I got it when I bought my E-MAXX cause it can charge 2 packs at the same time. Don't have the E-MAXX anymore but I kept the charger it can charge two packs in about 15 minutes.

One to two hours. It's pretty boring. First 2 tanks you just let it run, off the ground. Second 2-3 tanks you need an open lot to run at constant half-throttle. Then you tune it, and the fun begins!

Comes with a full book, tells you how to break it in, and how to tear the truck apart and put it back together.

so i will do just fine then.

roughly how many tanks will i go through in the break in process?

Break-in is 4-5 tanks according to the manual. Then getting a proper base tune can be anywhere from one to five or more tanks. Each motor is different, even when they are the same. If you don't have a temp gun, get one, you'll need it during break-in, and tuning, as well as for periodically checking temps when you are bashing/racing.

However i dont find that the savage x differentials are very strong but if this is your first nitro truck i have a feeling you wont be bashing it too hard! Congratulations and have fun! Watch out, this is a very addicting hobby!
