So my buddy is having me fix his sport maxx for him. Its a pretty sweet truck. Working on it shure is easyer than my revo, its just so simple. The motor sat for a good 2 years and had only had a gallon ran threw it before that. So he gave it to me and it wouldnt start. I took the mill apart and cleaned it all up, like the top of the head was all black and gooky so i buffed it lightly with a pice of steel wool and put it all back together. And his tank had what looked to be jello in it, so i cleaned it all up with a q-tip and let it sit upside down to drain. So i got it all back together with new fule lines and stuff. I was expecting it to be a PITA to get it running but i set the carb to stock and it fired right up. I took it out and damn this thing is a drift machine with the 2 wheel drive and all. So now the word has got around my school that I'm fixing rc cars and 2 people came up to me today and were like would you fix my car, ill pay you. So I'm in buisness. Yaaaaya. I love wrenching, its better than sitting on your ass watching tv. So next week the 2 guys are bring me there rigs a xtm excellorator, and a nitro rustler. This is so sweet.

glad to hear. I'm new to nitro but I have enjoyed working on my revo 3.3. Like you said its better than sitting around doing nothing. And hey if you enjoy it and you're making money you can't go wrong.

Hells ya its sweet geting paid for something you love. I'm just lucky no one knows i know how to work on dirtbikes or soon to be cars. I'm going to cypruss colg. right now in night school to get ahead and learn the whole car trade. My dream is to be a professonial painter, you know all the custom paint jobs and stuff. can't wait for that but i have to get general ed out of the way first.

Thats one thing I liked about Traxxas. They are pretty easy to work on. I had fun working on my tmaxx. And with it being a Tmaxx, it was worked on quite often

Hmmmm, to me the Revo was easier. I will agree the Sport maxx does drift pretty good for a MT.

Nothing better than getting paid to do what you like, until fixing other peoples rc's gets in the way of fixing your own rc's. Thats why I'm down to one person I'll actually do the work on his rc....he gets it when I have time for it and no sooner, but I only charge him for parts.

My thing they buy the parts and ill bolt em up and if need be tune them up. I'm applying to Ultimate Hobbies this week I just have to wait till monday so i can get my teachers adresses for refrence. I can't wait this is going to be sweet. But I'm only going to work on the cars for people i know so far know one i dont even know there name has came up to me but there all just friends. And my rides will always be faster lol.

On another note the sport maxx was given me a pita time tuning then the throttle linkage started to stick. It decide to take off at WFO speeds. Luckly i caught it befor anything broke. I put a spring form the motor to the linkage and that fixed the problem. But arnt the sport maxxes 2 speed does anyone know? Thanks for your time,

The first Sport Maxx's had a single speed tranny, when the S-Maxx came out they put two speeds in both of them.
