Wassup Guys....

I'm Back....
Back in the Suburbs again for me...
Lived in the city for a while so I really coudn't play with ANY of my nitros..

Sold most of my nitros but I kept my Savage and RS4

Sold my 2nd Savage so I still have the Truckzilla... haven't fired it up in months.. so today i did... still runs sweet...

Anyways... so what new for the Savage?? I fell from the scene and would like to get back into it...

any new toys/parts??

I would like to see if they made smaller CB and Spur gears for the Truckzilla and run smaller tires??

Anyone know??

Starting to get tired of the short turning radius of the massive wheels..

Here's a pic to remind yall of the beast

If you use smaller ones won't you be flipping that thing even faster?

you don't use a smaller cb for smaller tires, you use a larger one.

the Spur and gear combination on the truckzilla was made for the oversized tires...

if you run smaller tires, it will run like crap... no torque at all

you need to run a smaller combination to transfer the correct power...

that's why I ask...

and No I am not a newbie...

Nice to see you are still alive. Welcome back...and no. No really surprisingly new toys for the Savage. Still a rock solid beast.

if it was made for larger tire and you put smaller tires on it, it will have more low end torque and lose top end due to the smaller diameter, these things get confusing,we are not saying your newbie!!!so dont need to take offense just trying to help!!

how about this..

THIS QUESTION IS FOR PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY HAVE THE KIT AND KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT

Do they make a 13T-15T CB for the Truckzilla or Hotbody engine so you will be able run the stock 6" Tires....

No you can not just buy any CB it won't work

SIMPLE AS THAT...

The Truckzilla uses a 17T CB.
The Clutch shoes on a Truckzilla are bigger in width so the CB is wider and taller too
It uses a higher teeth range so you don't melt the shoes at all.

and if you know 17T will give you shhh torque but high top end

wouldn't you think I would try it out???
maybe that's why I ask this.....

Question was
"I would like to see if they made smaller CB and Spur gears for the Truckzilla and run smaller tires??"

NOT

"if I run smaller tires will I have more low end torque and lose top end due to the smaller diameter"

I know I sound like an A55..
but it is worthless to read replies from people who have no experience in this situation or don't ACTUALLY answer the question just give you information you already know

Street welcome back. I actually quit using my Zilla Kit, had problems with the engine (piston & crankshaft got ruined). But to answer your question, I don't think HB produced any other part to enhance the Zilla Kit. I may be wrong, like I said, I totally put away the kit and have converted back to stockers.

i was talking about this quote from YOU, anyone knows if you take off the big tires off and put small ones on its going to have more low end torque !!! i was correcting you this has nothing to do with a truckzilla kit..this statement is what i was commenting on because it is wrong

okay you are quoting me...
think about this for a moment
you are telling me "i was correcting you this has nothing to do with a truckzilla kit.."

when infact my question is about the truckzilla kit when you remove the big wheels and put smaller ones...

I didn't say IN GENERAL... "IF YOU TAKE OFF BIG TIRES AND PUT SMALLER ONES IT WILL RUN LIKE CRAP"

here is my quote that you quoted me

IT is refering to the TRUCKZILLA KIT

IT doesn't refer too

"anyone knows if you take off the big tires off and put small ones on its going to have more low end torque !!! "

READ the post before you answer like that
Did you even know that the Truckzilla kit uses a 17T CB...
Have you ever run a Savage with 17T or even better the 18T that comes with the SS or RTR kit...

ANYONE KNOWS that if you run a higher teeth CB you will lose torque but gain higher top speed...

ANYONE who is a RC Expert knows if you run a SMALLER CB with bigger tires you will melt the shoes or destroy the spur or CB...

EVERYONE knows now that YOU messed up on trying to call me out when in fact YOU didn't read my post

actually you are wrong and hb111 is right! No matter the clutchbell size the smaller the tires are the more torque you will have. If you have a 25 tooth clutch bell and 6 inch tires you will have no low end torque and all kinds of top end speed, but if you use the same 25 tooth clutch bell with 1 inch tires you will have insane low end but no top end. I don't know what horse you think you came in on, but I think its time you get off.

Yeah... it's real good your back...

Did you do the mod on the hub carriers and whatnot to help with your steering? Apparently, an hour with a dremel can help quite a bit. I haven't done it myself, but I found a thread somewhere walking you through it. If your interested, I'll see if I can figure out where it was at. I think it was at www.savage-central.com.

I don't really understand your spur/cb/tire issue, hb1111 seems right, but apparently it doesn't apply to your kit. You have a 17T CB, what's the teeth count on the spur?

I thought I'd at least try to help with your turning radius issue though.

I noticed the same article on Savage Central and tried it on mine. I was pretty impressed with the results. My track record with plastic and my dremel isn't very good. I tend to melt the plastic and make a mess. I used a very sharp razor blade and achieved the same results.

The way I understand it, he wants a smaller CB to go with smaller tyres.
I believe that the only CB for the .46 engine is the 17T one. If there's a different size, meganitro.com should have them but they don't.

I also have a .46 Truckzilla (4.8hp. 23,000 max rpm) and I would like to try Maxx wheels and tyres, but it would mean that I need a new engine with lots more RPM.

That's to bad that they don't support taller gearing... Although, couldn't you swap out the flywheel/shoes/cb combo with a "normal" 1/8 setup and a stock spur gear? Since your running smaller tires, that would make for less rotational mass and a normal 3 shoe would hook up just fine. Plus, your options for gearing would vastly increase.

Just thought I'd ask.

That's a brilliant idea! Although I can't try it because I only have the .46 engine and no flywheel/clutch/bell for smaller engines. Perhaps someone else might be able to try and see if they fit?

But with the .46 engine's high HP and low RPM, I think I would like a 20-22T CB to go with Maxx tyres... (the biggest Savage CB I found is 18T)

OMG

OKAY GUYS STOP TELLING ME THIS WHOLE THING ABOUT THIS AND THAT!

THAT DOESN'T HELP ME IN ANY WAYS CAUSE I ALREADY KNOW IF YOU PUT SMALLER TIRES IT WILL HAVE MORE TORQUE....

ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS DID THEY MAKE DIFFERENT SIZE CB FOR THE HOT BODIES .46 ENGINE ie 13T - 15T CB.

he gets it......

and YES....HB1111 is right about the whole tire gearing issue but in the case with the truckzilla kit, he is wrong...
WHY???
Cause I have the kit and tried it...
THAT's WHY I AM TELLING YOU GUYS and ASKING PEOPLE WITH TRUCKZILLA or anyone knows if the made smaller CB for the .46 engine

but HB1111 said "i was correcting you this has nothing to do with a truckzilla kit"

when in FACT THIS WHOLE POST WAS ASKING ABOUT THE TRUCKZILLA

Why you yelling.

Thats not nice. :argue: members are offering there help to you right or wrong.
just don't awnswer them if you feel that there wrong.
