OK brand new motor it fires up easy and idles fine with the glow plug igniter on it but when i take it off it dies. If i idel the motor up it will stay running. It idels at the right rpm with the igniter on it . I riched the lowspeed a little didnt help i also changed the plug it didnt help . Can somebody help plz

If i idel it up enough to get it to stay running when i give it some gas it dies

You should know the solution if you really are "an experienced rc driver"......Chances are it wont idle properly until broken in. Do this and your engine will idle fine at lower idle speed setting. Just increase the idle speed until broken in. Decrease it if the car wants to run away in neutral. BTW its idle not idel....no such word as idel lol

Wow you were a lot of help thanks for the spelling tips !

if it only runs with igniter on, that's generally a bad glow plug.
Yea thats what i thought but i have changed it out . I can't break the engine in because if i try to give it some gas it dies

I didn't know rcnt was English class..

You should be able to turn your idle up a bit untill break in is finished then after that is the time to adjust everything. Maybe lean it just a tiny bit also so you can at least give it some throttle

Doh.. I missed that part.. though Nitroistop's answer lacked tact, he may be right about raising idle just a little bit. Give that a shot.. it may just need to idle up to generate the heat needed to remain running w/out the igniter.

Thanks for the help guys i guess i was just afraid of leaning my new engine to much ! I leaned it out and it strarted "idleing" right it was to rich .

glad to hear you made progress.

just to be clear though, you know there's an idle adjustment screw as well that raises idle w/out leaning the car out, right?

Yep, raising the idle gives more fuel, so you wont hurt it adjusting.
