So, about a week ago my little brother had a baseball game, and in the 4th inning, the other teams coach came up to the ump, who is a senior at the high school in the town my brother plays for. Apparently he had was mad about the walk-up songs that the kids themselves had picked that someone played before the batter got in the box. He was mad because the song(never gonna stop me by rob zombie) had"bad words" in it. The only part that was playing was the chorus, where the only words said are"never gonna stop me". The umpire was kinda just like"ok, the music is not really a problem, so if you have a problem with it, you can take it up with the association that runs the league." He didn't raise his voice or anything, but the coach was like"were gonna leave if you don't change the music" and still, the umpire was just like"ok, but I'm not the one in charge of the music, so go talk to the person who is". Long story short, the other team ends up leaving(it was more like the coach decided they were leaving), and my brothers team "wins". He told me about it and I was pretty confused at why the coach forfeit. Then I kinda forgot about it. Fast forward to today, and Fox News literally did an article about it. Here it is.

Anyways, I'm happy that the umpire kept his cool. We need more umps like him!
Here's a video going into more detail

If I were the parents of the kids who didn't get to finish the game, I'd be looking for a new coach. He obviously didn't care about what the kids on his team wanted. Cudos to the ump, that's not something you get to say too often.

Way too into it parents who are reliving their youths through their children are drilling the coach for all he's worth right now. How much profanity can be put into a single sentence. That question has already been answered repeatedly. Parents of young athletes are vicious when they feel their kids have been wronged.

I love sports. I played little league ball, and my daughters all dablled in soccer. I even coached a year of boys and gilrs mixed softball and a little soccer.

BUT I am so glad none of them stuck with it. Kids sports today are INSANE.

But, yeah, this ump rocks. Great job young man

When my daughter switched from soccer to choir I was all in. I'm a kick back and watch the game kind of dad. The parents beside me? You would think the fate of the universe was being decided. Choir is far more civilized.
I can only imagine

Several of my coworkers have kids in sports, mostly baseball

The stories I here are insane

And it's year round now, because they have indoor facilities
