Hello,

My question is with reguard to the 7 cell trinity packs TRI20166. I recently purchased 4 Trinity IB4600 (3 were standard 1 was a SHV pack). All of these were ordered in separate shipments. I have a Dynamite Vision Peak Ultra and a Duratrax ICE (tried both chargers). The first pack I got worked like a charm and had no problems charging (charged at 3 amps). I charged the second pack and mid way through the charge the pack started to vent and swell. The third pack not only started hissing but it also leaked acid (out of the 7th cell on the end). The fourth pack I bought just for kicks and giggles (this was the SHV pack) started to do the same as the third pack. Are you guys experienceing alot of problems from these cells?? Any idea whats going on? This is really wierd.... ( I thought these were supposed to be one of the best cells you can get )

Edit: Also use these chargers for a ton of different packs and NEVER had a issue anywhere close to this. ....... Anyone want to take bets as to when the one good pack will pop in my e-revo? (got to wait for a second one of course)

The charger is fine. I have one and they are always good to me. I have a 4700 of the same brand and its been good to me. I'd contact Trinity and see what they can do for you.

I haven't to many good things about Trinity batteries lately. And from what I have heard they don't have very good customer service, but hay talking to them might be worth a try. did you order direct from Trinity? or did you get from some where else?

I got all my batteries from Hobby Town USA. They are dealing with it there but I just wanted to know if anyone else was having issues with them. I spoke with them and they said they could get in Duratrax 7 cell 4200s. Would this be a better way to go? If not what other battery should I be looking at (cost is somewhat a factor, I only paid 58 bucks for these packs). Lipo could possibly be a option but lets leave that alone right now.

I have had very good luck with Venom packs. Great packs at a reasonable price--4600mAh for $68.00. I get mine from RC Boca and I am pretty sure Tower Hobbies has them as well...

Not sure if anyone is keeping up with this thread or not but I ended up returning the packs after 5 of them (countem 5! ) went bad right after the first charge. I ended up getting a MRC Super Brain 989 charger, blinky, 2s Reedy 5000mah Lipos, and a LVC. Thanks for all the help though. Oh yeah abadk9420 you were right. Trinity support is absolutely horrible. They said they never had problems with those packs whatsoever. I'm sure no one has ever ever ever sent a battery back to them (yeah right). STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM ALL TRINITY PACKS!!
