I think I might pick up one of these...

Interesting. I know some nitro racers that might be interested.

Yep. I might race my S3 a bit this summer. An engine warmer will be quite a nice tool. IMO $100 is about $50 too much but until there's more market competition that's what we get to pay.

Somebody from the UK was selling those on RCTech, and he was selling alot of them. Racers seemed to like them alot.

They work great. Shoot just what they save in fuel and wear make them worthwhile.

I've been using a Competition Heater since the day they launched the 110V version. This thing is AWESOME! It reduces engine wear a little by pre-expanding all the engine components before ya spin em over. It makes starting a Nitro rig SOOOO much easier....and once it fires...you are pretty much ready to race/tune/bash. No warm up time needed. The engine is already just about up to temp for you.

Eric (the creator) is an awesome guy as well. Came from the NASCAR industry and really knows his stuff. It's probably the best $100 I have spent in awhile....

Oh and I use it ALL year round to preheat my engines. I leave it on most of the day while at the race track as well. It really heat saturates the engine and chassis 100x better than a heat gun or hair dryer as well.....and works wonders for engine break in. There really are no downsides...other than needing something to power it with ;-)

They sell an AC version too, but I just purchased a 3 output PS so I'm in good shape. I just think that's an awesome idea. You're in race ready mode right off the bat, able to tune right away. I like it.

We rigged up a garden cart with a car battery and a 200W inverter to power 2 heaters on the go for Psycho Nitro Blast next week. So we can have our engines warming up while we wait for our race to be called. ;-)

Okay, a 100 degrees is about half way there, this will bring it up to about 200.

Yeah ambient temp might be 100 degrees....but what is your engine temp when you crank it up? Maybe 70 unless you leave it the sun for a few hours ;-) These heaters bring it up to 150+ before you even crank it over....
