Well today my mom had a garage sale with all her friends. So she comes home and is all i got you something for free its in the back seat. I go out there and shure as hell its a box with 2 dusty ass rc cars in it. HUH? Cool! I go in the house and say where did you get them, her friend was geting rid of them because she was tired of them siting around, and she gave them to her for free. I'm like come up! So after blowing the dust off them, and scratching my head to figuar out to do with them. I blew them off with the air compresser,(works wonders). One's a team losi, not shure what modle, but its in fair condition, It just needs, haha everything, like drive shafts, speed control, motor and tires. The other is something that I have never see anything of such before. It says JR on the front bumper, but other than that its just really chity lookin, and I dont think its worth my time or money to touch. They also came with an old controler it looks like an old ass m'series, something. Other than that its just cool that I got 2 cars for free I'm pretty stoked. The losi will be a restor project as soon as my sport maxx gets done. Here are some pics. If you guys could tell me some info on both cars, what modle they are. The losi I'm pretty shure its a xxt or what ever it is, the other I'm clueless, maby a old traxxas? Here are the pics,

The first one is a JRXT, the second is a XXT. The JRXT is a real classic; as old as the gold tub RC10's. It's in fairly good condition considering its' age and covering of rust. If you do drive it, watch the steering assembly; they break REALLY easy (design flaw).

When the truck was originally released, it had a 5 link rear suspension (that's what the A-towers on the side of the chassis is for).

Now, the transmission, it was kind of a weird setup. It has the traditional single top gear like all modern transmissions. However, the middle gear is actually the diff, with a gear on either side; each outdrive has its' own gear. Thats' what the hole in the side of the case is for; the diff. The diff was also adjusted as a slipper; it looks like whoever had this one before added the after market slipper for it, or at least a gear cover capable of covering the slipper.

Now, as for the XXT; It looks like it's in stock trim; with a hydra drive mounted to the slipper shaft. The hydra drive was losi's attempt at a Viscous coupler/slipper. Way ahead of its' time; in the right track conditions, it was outright deadly. It allows a person to run a MUCH looser slipper setting, therefore gaining a lot of traction, at the trade off of acceleration. I would put that model at the CR, non-graphite-plus version.

Either way, you may not be able to get parts for either car; they're definite shelf queens.

As for the marking on the top one; JR is Gil Losi Jr's trademark.

So you dont think it would be worth it to fix the xxt up and drive it around. As for the top one I dont know what I'm going to do with it. I shure as heck dont know what to do with it, I was just going to drop it in the trash, but if you think its worth saving as a shelf peace, I would, but I'm shure as heck not driving it anywhere.

I would definitely keep it as a shelf queen (the JRXT). The XXT, however.... I want to say you _MIGHT_ be able to get parts for it, but I'm not entirely sure. The XXT was "current" up until about '01-02.. The JRXT is a good 15-16 years old. A definite piece of R/C history. Losi is pretty good about supporting models less than 10 years old.

If you're not planning on launching the XXT into massive air, you should be alright to fix it up and drive it around, provided the electronics still work. It looks like it has a Tekin ESC; probably one of the originals. I'll lay a wager at it being the 4-20 (4-20 cells capacity). I had one of those when I had my XXT - really good speed controller.

I would tear it completely down to parts, trans included, and make sure everythings' not rusted out in it. Same with the ESC; it might be hosed (sadly).

The XXT was Losi's answer to the Associated RC10T2/T3 (as there were a couple renditions; yours is the CR, characterised by the kingpin ball-studs on the front end), and perhaps the best handling Losi ever made, as it wasn't rear-end-loose, like the XXXT.

The JRXT was really the first "real" stadium racer produced. It was a milestone in R/C, as it was the first non-conversion-kit stadium availlable. Before that, it was gold tub RC10s' and Tamiya grasshoppers/frogs.

Ahhhh, the memories, lol.

Thanks alot man! Holy crap you know your stuff. lol! The xxt does have the tenkin speed controller in it. It also has the artronics reciver and that controller piced above. I cleaned up the controller and it worked perfectly. I figuared out the last time it was used to judgeing by the batteries that were in the controller, 2000. So I have been doing some cleaning and geting this thing cleaned up and its actually in really good shape. So far I think it looks like I can get way with new drive shafts, and ball studs, and hinge pins. Everything else looks up to par. I need to put some modern deans plugs on it and see if the electronics work but thats after a trip to the hobby shop later. Here are a couple more pics of the xxt.

As for the older one I think I'm just going to clean it up and hang it in my closet, after you said it was a pice of history, and my dads friend that used to race back when the gold chassie was around said it was a classic, I think it avoied the trash. lol. Thanks alot!

Not a problem. I used to have one of both of those trucks. I started with the JRXT, then moved to an RC10T, then to the XXT, then a XXXT, then the RC10GT and T3, and here I am..... 8 cars, three helis' and a park flyer later, lol.

One other thing to note; the rear rims on the XXT, those are actually the JRXT's rears. Losi had two variations on the rims; a three piece setup, and the ones on the XXT.

I've also had one of those XL2P's. Great radios; they suck AA's for breakfast tho.

I used to race the Lxt and xxx buggy these pics bring back good memories! THen I moved on to gas!

Well the xxt is on its way to being driven again. Today I went down to the hobby shop and picked up a few things. I didnt but what i mentioned before because the rust wasent that bad. The drive shafts and diff, I brushed with a wire wheel on a bench grinder and that took care of that, and all the little things that were rusty, I just cleaned up with a scuff pad. I'm replaceing all the screws, with good old team fast eddy set, left over from my ntc3. I bought a motor today though because I figuared the old one was gone, and the mount holes are differnt thread pattern than that of any screw I have, so I'm going to take it back tomarrow. I'm also goin to pick up a new set of rear tires tomarrow. I can't wait to have a cool stadium truck, I have always wanted one and now I finally got one, and its only cost me about 20 bucks so far. Oh and the radio works from what i can tell, and polised up real well too, I just need the foam thing for the wheel.
