I need OS Maxx .21 info

I spent a couple of hours today working on a Tmaxx a guy bought used at a pawn shop. There's about $2000 in this MT, plus a carry bag with engines and lots of tools and parts. All the aluminum upgrades including the frame rails. He paid 500.
It has an OS Maxx .21 on it. It had fuel in it that was over a year old. Cleaned it, changed the plug and got it started. MAN does it rip.
What I need to know is, what is the proper temp on this engine?
It got dark, so I stopped working on it, but the LSN still needs to be richened a bit more. The pinch shut it down at 2 seconds, and full running gave me a temp of 305.
I wasn't getting any oil spitting at idle, and when it got to 240 just idling, I richened it till it idled at 212.
I'm mostly familiar with .15 and 2.5 Traxxas, so I just need to know what temps are preferred for this engine with 20% fuel.

Congrads. it sound like a good truck for a very good deal. u can never go wrong w/ O.S.......My friends runs a O.S. 21 in his Maxx an once when he was racing the temps. got around 315 degrees F which is hot espically being in 105 degree weather down here in Florida. I ran my O.S. 18 2day an the temps topped out around 300 degrees F. We both run Oddonnel 20% an this fuel does let your engine run a little hotter.

I've run an OS 15 cv-r(x) and OS 21 RG-X(P). Both liked temps around 220-250.

It was a great deal, but it's not mine. I just worked on it for a customer at the LHS.

It was around 80 today with low humidity. The car was VERY fast and wheelied on demand. It had wheelie bars on it to keep it from flipping.

300 is not bad for this engine? I'm just not familiar with the big blocks, and I can't remember if they were supposed to run cooler or hotter.

I know both mine (OS 21 RG and Omega 21 Comp) like to be around 240-260 on most days. If they get much hotter than that I notice quite a bit of power loss. I also notice they are kind of doggy until I get to about 230.

Okay Olds, thanks. I got it all checked out, screws, camber, toe in and the rest of the basics, and set the computer radio adjustments and got it started. I've only run about 1/3 of a tank so far. (It was broken in, but sat for over a year) The carb was stubborn, but finally started to behave.
He left it at the LHS, so I'll finalize the adjustments for him.
