Ok, like I said, though it's a very capable crawler, I can't let well enough be. Here's my issue. A SImple servo horn. I want to dump the factory composite horn and upgrade servo. Servo CHECK. The servo horn from yeah racing which I already bought is too long (YA-0574BK). The RCR aluminum isn't available on their web site. Neither are their batteries.. thoughts on Servo horns and upgrading and adding batteries to the arsenal? Model #'s and where to shop would be appreciated for known fitting parts! Thanks in advance community!

Looking good! I too feel the need to upgrade everything 🤣
Have you tried Savox for the servo horn? You can just use one of the plastic ones that are included with the servo until you locate a proper lenth aluminum one. Also, I see you upgraded the servo mount as well, is it adjustable to allow for a longer servo than stock to clear the upper links?

As for the batteries, I have had one on backorder from Redcat on warrenty since mid December. Mine completely died after 3 charges, Redcat was awesome with response and getting me one on order under warranty. I did locate gensacearespammers batteries that are same size, connectors, and Mah, but they too have been backordered. I have had them on order with AMain since mid Dec as well with no expected ship date. Makes me wonder if gensacearespammers are supplying the batteries for Redcat??

That would make sence. Rarely do mfgrs produce the whole project.. they will shop suppliers. Good point on the servo mount.. I have not looked that close, I'll look into it.. thanks for the batt input. I might look at the minimal rc hobby shops near by, maybe they bought a few for re sale..

Weird, I just saw that in my reply "gensacearespammers" shows up as "gensacearespammers". Does anyone else have this?

Back to the battery topic, I have looked everywhere I can think of for a battery this size, but to no avail. I do have a few 2S that fit and work, but would sure like to have the 3S back

I put the Injora brass adjustable one on mine, but have not yet swapped servos....on my list :)
The servo mount on mine is a injora.. infact I think every upgrade (maybe minus brass dif-covers) are injora. I'll look at it closer and reply.. I'll also make sure my new servo fits and reply back.

Injora makes a complete servo setup for the Apex including brass bracket and brass horn. Works fine, I have it on my rig.

The battery situation is a known issue if you use the enclosed USB charger that comes with the rig. Invest in a decent balance charger for best results. These mini batteries they included are fairly decent batteries they just don't like to recharge if they get to a very low voltage such as running them all the way down until the truck just stops. Most who send the batteries back for warranty or claim the battery crapped out is a result of using the USB charger or went too low on voltage. A decent charger will still revive them from the too low voltage situation.
Hope this helps..info comes from my own experiences and others having the same results. The Apex rig itself is awesome regardless of battery! 😄

As for the batteries, I have only really had issues with the one that came with the Apex. I try to use my new G A charger (not gonna type in gensacearespammers 🤣) Hopefully batteries will be back in stock soon. Might have to check those Spektrums out, thanks for the link @CreepyQuarryCrawler 👍
I had been thinking about one of the Injora higher end servos, glad to hear it is working well.
Such an incredible rig!

The End.

You forgot 'Once upon a time' and ' Hear ye, hear ye!!!'🙄
No mention of 'Off with their heads!!!'???🤷‍♀️🤣

So I looked finally and my servo mount is only a single position which is fine.. shortening the yeah racing horn isn't as easy as it seems. I'm just going to have to hunt or wait for injora's super fast shipping. Not that the crawler isn't usable as it is. And I'm just a hobby guy not a competitor so not too worried. THOUGHTS ON THIS BATTERY FOR THE APEX?
