well I'm thinking about getting into the hobby. I'm looking to buy a nitro truck. and was wondering what would be a good one to start out with.
my brother and his freind just bought tmaxxs but they were both broke down after an hour of use. dont know if this was a fluke but I'm not sure i want to go the same route.
anyways i would like a truck that is comparible to the tmaxxs. or are they a good option.
any advice would be appreciated

The T maxx is good truck and if taken care of properly and you break in the motor correctly, I am not sure what they did to break them in an hour, but it sounds like they were driving them past there capabilities and I don't care what one you get if drive them past the breaking point they are going to break, But if you don't want to go the T Maxx route, you might also look at the Traxxas Revo or the Savage from HPI... both are good alternatives.

The T-Maxx is certainly a good beginner truck. Traxxas's customer service is some of the best I've ever experienced. The T-Maxx isn't the most durable truck out there but it is certainly easy to use. It is kinda small though and isn't very long which cripples its handling a bit.

The HPI Savage is a 1/8th scale monster, though. It's probably the most durable truck there is, and is big block based so you have more breathing room in choosing a new engine. Another benefit is the option of building it yourself with the SS version should you choose to do so.

Fist advices Don't Crash it, its fun if you use them in wide open parking lots, parks, no carts or tree, i learned my lesson as well.
Also look at the LST2, The Aftershock and my favorite the Savage (Recently Ordered :D)

Ya the t-maxx aren't the most durable but the I have heard that the hpi savages are. Another one would be the duratrax warhead but it is now renamed something else.

The Traxxas Revos seem pretty good from everything I see. My neighbor owns one, and he really bashes that thing. He guns it full speed up our street, hits a dirt pile, launches 5 feet into the air, onto his roof and rolls over and keeps on going. Pretty reliable truck, and has some pretty good speed. Now, my dad owns a T-Maxx, and if you plan on driving the older one I believe(?) on the road, you're gonna need new tires. It's pretty durable, however, haven't really jumped anything major, yet.
