so I guess wrenching is actually the better part of the hobby over there huh????
I'd love to give one of those rally style tracks a go.....I'm just starting to get used to driving different tracks now...before I drove my local track well cause it was all I hit....now I'm getting more into car setup and seeing how much affect it has on different tracks.....I'm definately driving better over the last few months since really learning all the different options of setups....

I love driving my xb8 but the prospec is def a great buggy, go for it if its the one you like

I've got a Prospec as well - Haven't had the chance to drive it yet (had it for almost 3 months...) Doggone home improvements! lol.

The only downside, there's three manuals that come with it. Take the time to read thru the Addendum (third, it's a sheet), and make notes in the main manual. Do the same with the Prospec addendum manual, and you'll have a SMOOTH time of the build.

No prob. Also, it comes with a body and tires/rims, regardless of what the place you get it from says. You will still need an exhaust and an engine. The newer Prospecs come with a one-peice engine mount (wish it was two-piece, but, can't complain). The stock/kit tires are Proline Crimefighters, not sure what compound. The rims are a stock white dish, dyable.

It also comes with a fuel filter - do yourself a favor, and dump it for a dynamite big daddy. The stock one will clog/become harder to pass fuel through as soon as it gets wet. You can use the stock mounting hole for the new filters' bracket.

The other thing that you may need are the 2mm wheel hex widening set (they're two hex-hubs... You'll need two packs, part number MUGE0209), so you can use Ofna 17mm rims. It'll open your rim/wheel choices up A LOT. Plus, they're also the same anodizing color as the stock Prospec ones, so if you're worried about them standing out, you need'nt be.

It also comes with 3 diff silicones (7k, 5k, 1k) and 350cps shock oil. Overall, aside from the multi-manual part, the build is VERY painless. Just get yourself some blue threadlock, shoe goo (for the brake pads), and some superglue (to seal the graphite.. Put just a drop on the side edge, and literally let it run around the piece, it helps prevent the graphite layers from peeling apart over time).

Outside of all of that, it's a VERY sturdy feeling buggy. I can't wait till I get mine broken in (well, further broken in... Got the idling part done).

Actually the one piece motor mount is better then the two piece because it adds stiffness to the chassis. The wheels and wing that come with the prospec are yellow.
