I have many questions

Okay.. I found a nitro motor for around 10 bucks, I'm not sure if I should buy it.. It has the two screws holding the backplate on are broken off. I does not run, but its only 10 bucks.. What do you think?


Next question.. Okay.. I have a General Lee electric RC car.. It doesn't go very fast.. So.. I was thinking I should swap in a Nitro motor.. I know where I'm going to mount it, and how.. But how would I get the power to the wheels and throttle and shifting and such? I know for the throttle I could get a servo and take the two leads that originally went to the electic motor and put them on the servo.. But shifting and getting power to the wheels I think is my only concern...

Anything helps.

If it doesn't run what would it be good for? what kind of engine is it anyways?

For you're general lee to make it faster you can just go brushless, and it would be alot easier then trying to rig-up a nitro engine on an electric car

Its a Siro Evo 2.12. The guy said that it died and he tore it all apart, the bearings look good, but all he found were the two broken screws on the back plate.


And the reason I like nitros.. Is well.. I just like the smell of burnt nitro and the sound.

Converting an electric to nitro is not an easy task. I don't want to discourage you but just consider that it is going to take quite a bit of modification. Unless your dead set on a project car you may want to consider just purchasing a nitro car since you seem to like the idea of nitros, plus get an engine that will actually run. I can just about guarantee you'll spend just as much $$ trying to convert your electric as it would cost to buy a brand new RTR nitro car. Just my 2cents

Okay nevermind.. I know what I want now.. Anyone know where I can buy a cheap nitro chassis? I'm only 14, so I can't spend TOO much money.. But I like my general lees body, And that would be a pretty killer sleeper. :O

Hi I'm only 15 but I've been driving nitro for a while now. It is really expensive to run and a HUGE commitment electric would be alot easier I just wish I hadn't gone and got addicted to nitro rc. Also nitro fumes are really TOXIC uke: so don't by it just to smell the exhaust fumes.

Are you looking for a Ready to run car or just a rolling chassis?

Hehe. Just a ready to run car without the body. The only troubles I see is the wheel base and distance between the two wheels.. Dunno what you would call that. I'll put up some measurements later today.

Okay. Note these mesurements are from outside of wheels to the outside.

Wheelbase = 13 inches

Distance between front wheels = 6 3/8 inches

Distance between Rear Wheels = 6 3/8 inches

How much IS a jug of nitro?

Here in Ohio a gallon is around 40 dollars for 30% and 20 dollars for a quart of 30%

I use O'Donnell Racing Fuel for my trucks, I can get some for 30 dollars a gallon
